Hiya!

Just got myself MxO from Direct2Drive and installing/patching it now. Been thinking of trying MxO for a good while, but never got around to it. I'm a casual gamer from Norway (Europe) and enjoy RPing alittle. I'm not sure what server to choose, found out that I'll probably not play the PvP one - but uncertain about which one to pick of the others.

Do the servers have any special differences? What is the "image" of the servers?

Hey there and welcome to the game!

Servers... well theres not any real differences but some advice thats been given in the past is mostly timezone based. If you're based more in an american timezone go Recurison and if you're more Europe way go Syntax. There was also an arguement regarding style of RP where Recursion had more dramatic and combat orientated RP while Syntax had more casual, test, based RP. Not sure how accurate either of those are nowadays tho.

Welcome to MxO !!

I'm partial to Syntax myself, but that's because I've been there over 3 years. I think it is the most populated by a bit. We do have a little more RP than the other two, and it is my belief that we have a phew more Europeans here.

If you plan on being around for awhile make a character on all three, spend some time on all three and then decide from there. A week on each should be enough for you to decide.

Syntax FTW!

Seriously, if you're not into PVP (or don't plan to be until later), put characters on Recursion and Syntax and just explore. The server experiences are defined by the people who play. So get to know some folks in both places, and see how you like the social dynamics.

This is a vicious circle...."Go to syntax it has the most population".....thats because everyone refers everyone to syntax...they never go to Recursion.....V.v . Oh well, Welcome to the game, have fun on no mater what server you join the experience will be the same.

When I started playing over 2 years ago Recursion was accepted as the most populated server, then somehow that cycle was broken a year ago.

In this case the choice is right for him, being from Norway, as Syntax absorbed the European server.
