Ok watched it... looked really cool, but cant get much of an impression due to the little that you see... but I guess thats why they call it a teaser.

Christian Bale is on a hot streak.

Excellent choice for John Connor.

I will be waiting for this one.

Cons:

- Written and directed by the crew responsible for Catwoman
- PG-13 rating
- Possible questionable cinematography.

Addendum

- Director was also responsible for Charlie's Angels.

Um... PG13? Wow F that...
#36300479414 07/17/2008 05:36:54 Re:Terminator Salvation
Oh, I have so many reservations about this.

Everything Canbus said, for a start, in addition to the previous mishandling of a frankly amazing franchise.  I can only hope that Bale saw something in the script which showed promise, because on paper, this has unrelenting pile of excrement scrawled across it in gigantic letters.  I hear that's actually the anti-piracy title.

If the makers are happy to continue along the same vein as "Talk to the hand," etc, then it's already in trouble.  Even if it's going for all-out CG skull-****ing action, it'll still come up short as it doesn't have the budget or team to pull that off.
#36300479423 07/17/2008 05:55:09 Re:Terminator Salvation
The first thing that raised my eyebrows about this was the movie logo itself.  In all honesty, I could've done the same thing in about five minutes in Photoshop.

Secondly, the teaser itself was well-done, I suppose, for what it was, but...   the only thing I really SAW was what looked like an HK rising in the background.  And that could've easily been a fiberglass model being picked up with a crane.

Third and finally, I went to the movie's alleged website, and what I got to see was....  a Wordpress blog?

I'm not putting too much faith in this.  I've been waiting for this movie for awhile, but I also remember how many Terminator 3 hoaxes there were on the internet.  There's a chance (however slight) that this Terminator Salvation thing is nothing more than a hoax, itself.  One can hope, anyway.

Exactly that is the only reason i have faith in this movie Bale usaly only does movies he thinks will be good and look at the movies he has been in i dont recall one bad movie yet.

Bale had two sinkers out of his entire career, and he's not to blame for trying out these projects. Shaft 4, and Equilibrium (not denying Equi's action though.)
#36300479581 07/17/2008 14:08:45 Re:Terminator Salvation

Bale's salary has no doubt increased drastically since he is in such high demand.  People will do anything phor money... I do hope that's not the case though, and it turns out well.  As good as he is... he won't be able to carry the whole thing on his shoulders alone, and it may come back to bite him if it's not on par with his current and past movies.

#36300527376 12/09/2008 10:46:39 Re:Terminator Salvation

Looks... ok, just another big blockbuster movie really.

#36300527377 12/09/2008 10:49:13 Re:Terminator Salvation

I'm fairly excited about this one. There are parts of the Terminator mythos that drew me to the concept of the Matrix when I watched it. I'm hoping to see whether some of the theories I've had about the war are true or not also.

Japanese Trailer

I hardly think Sony or Warner Bros. will claim copyright on that website.

#36300527785 12/10/2008 12:12:20 Re:Terminator Salvation

Can't say I'm tottaly crazy about the new trailer. Didnt look bad, not by a long shot, but it doesnt look like the movie I was hopeing for. For one, there are way to many daytime scenes... but I'll give that a pass, as it appears to still be close to the beginning of the war in which the resistance hasnt been assembled yet, so they arent really a military type operation yet.

But what bothers me the most is how much "different" and "new" they are pushing in the trailer. Lines like "This isn't the war my mother told me about" and "This war ends tonight one way or the other" Its as if they are taking our terminator future that we know of, and changing it all up for the sake of "somthing new".... DAMIT WE (I) DONT WANT SOMTHING NEW WE WANT TERMINATOR!

see what im trying to say?

you stay down by day, but at night you can move around.
you still have to be careful because the H-Ks use infrared.

Edited for exact quote... mine was pretty darn close tho SMILEY

#36300527800 12/10/2008 12:25:59 Re:Terminator Salvation

Hmm.. maybe that's something that they learn and catch on to at some point in the movie. But yeah, I see what you're saying in the previous post. I'm anxious to see what they're trying to tell us all together.

Terminator Survival 101 - We stay down by day, but at night you can move around a little, still have to be careful tho because the machines use infrared.

                                                     - Kyle Reese

*bows down* I should have never questioned such a Terminator fan. SMILEY

Infrared is used for nightvision mostly. So either way, night or day, it would be the same for the terminators.  Seeing how we humans are not night creatures it would be better to fight in the day to give us the most effective fightin force.

Thats just being techinical and nerdish.  For filming wise it gives more of a tone and feel when filmin at night.  Same reason why you dont see very many horror films with daytime sence.

#36300527940 12/10/2008 18:07:10 Re:Terminator Salvation

That's a really good point, and it would be interesting if they picked up on that in this film, but we'll see.

After reading the article above, my hopes just went up... as did expectations. And no, not because of the Arny camieo, if anything that could only hurt the film IMO.

#36300535481 01/14/2009 15:51:42 Re:Terminator Salvation

Yeah, I'm kinda hyped about this too, for all the same reasons.

Wow, looks great. So Marcus is a Terminator but thinks he's human? Or that could just be a mechanism that lets him infiltrate further. Clever. Hope they use that to its full potential in the movie. At the very least, this looks leagues better than T3.
