Oh, by the way, does someone know what's the song playing during this trailer?

Nine Inch Nails - The Day The World Went Away
Due to the uselesness of the 'go to last post' button, I saw the first few posts of the topic. Most of them were unsure what to make of the teaser trailers and hoping that the film will be decent. Good to see, looking at the last few posts, that most peoples hopes will be realised. T3 was a low point for me in the series, I want this one to be simply epic.

Haha Phrack I lol'ed. I liked the action sequences but.. I dunno something dosen't ring true on it... maybe when it comes out we will see a different movie but I dunno >.>
Well, you have to keep in mind that with each installment of the Terminator series (1, 2, 3, T:SCC), the future timeline has been altered a little bit more. The future that will be depicted in Terminator Salvation won't necessarily be the future we've seen prior to now.
But, you see, this is where things get interesting.
Terminator Salvation is supposed to be the first in a new Terminator trilogy, taking place after Judgment Day. If things do not happen in this future (Terminator Salvation) that occured in the previous future (T1, T2, T3, T:SCC), then the events leading up to this movie will have never happened, creating a paradox.
Doctor Emmet Brown's head would explode, if we were to ever map out the implications on the space-time continuum that would presumably occur with each installment of this franchise.

even in the trailer John says this isnt the same future that his mother told him about.
Wow that new trailer is awesome.........

Exactly. That doesn't necessarily make it any less Terminatorey, does it?
I Must say... Seen it and I believe IMAX will be pleased

oooh man, dont say that, now your gonna go and my hopes all up. Are you SURE I'm going to be pleased? Do you know just how I feel about the franchise as a world full of history and lore? I hope your right, so far I'm gonna say it looks good but I still think it has a chance of screwing up.
time will tell

Yes I do understand your love of the Terminator's saga. I would have thought that you'd watch the midnight show last night. Best way to watch a movie is to have no expectations at all; so that you enjoy the movie as to what it is.

I've gotten to the point where I'd rather see a movie early in the day so there arent so many breathers packed around me in the theater. Plus usually its cheaper. However we are actually about to leave for the theater as I write this, so in due time
well just got back and, I'm not tottaly pleased, but it was somwhere between ok and good. The last 45 mins of the film was definitly better then the 1st half, I like the direction they went, just didnt feel very terminator for that 1st hour, which is kinda what I expected from the beginning i think.
Over all the whole movie felt like a build up to Terminator 5.
So was listening to the morning show. They have some Dbag holywood reporter. He said that Arnold wasnt the first guy to be considered for it. OJ simpson was, But He lacked that Killer image so it wouldnt be as believable if OJ was the terminator.

that was also in an article on yahoo news just the other day...
Also Arnold was orginally adutioning for the Kyle Reese character and play the hero, but they thought he would be better for the villian since he only had a few words of dialog. In other words, he could barly speak english at the time.

The more things change the more they stay the same.
But in all seriousness, I really liked T:S. Way better than T3, maybe even on par with T1.
I thought it was pretty good as an introduction to the next one. It was not great, but pretty good, and it managed to hold my attention and interest throughout. B+
We just got back from Terminator: Salvation and I was very disappointed. The only test of a movie for me is this: did it captivate full attention from the first scene to the last, never leaving one bored for even a single frame. I expected the new Star Trek movie to be horrible, but I was pleasantly surprised by an exciting, fun ride that kept my attention on every scene. Though I had high hopes going in, Terminator: Salvation was boring and predictable. All their "surprises" and "twists" could be seen coming a mile away, the character development was shallow and the special effects seemed to be thrown in with the idea of, "to distract you from the boring, predictable plot and the shallow characters, we now present this action scene with CGI robots and big explosions." Save your money and rent this one from the $1/night DVD rental machine in six months. I think I would have rather seen the second season of Sarah Connor Chronicles instead, though with the way the series fizzled at the end of season one, the decision to not watch season two seems to have been the correct one, as it was soon cancelled. Most Hollywood producers/writers/directors still haven't figured out how to make movies worth watching, much less worth paying for. Keep trying, guys, someday you might be able to duplicate the magic of the very few films that are worth paying money to see.

I agree with you insofar as a stand-alone movie. The second one needs to find its footing extremely fast, now that we've stablished a very baseline setting and characters (poorly fleshed out I may add). But, what do you expect with a director so pretentious he calls himself "McG." He might as well called himself McBay. Or McLovin for that matter.
T:SCC was phenominal and although Season 2 had some dragged out parts early on, the character development was a million times richer than T:S, and the show was extremely thoughtful and intelligently written. The plot lines came together in the end in a simply stunning manner. But, the fickle networks keep trying to dumb us down with even more purile and lowest common demoninator garbage. T:SCC has no place in a realm that places Celebutardism above all.
I've seen so many frikken movies in my lifetime, been so jaded and oversaturated, that my criteria for a good movie now is, do I still think about this movie several days after I've seen it? If I've already more or less purged it from my mind a half an hour after I've seen it, it isn't a good movie. T:S is exactly how I feel about it. Although it more or less kept my attention while I was watching it, its already long since gone from my imagination and interest.
Not so with T:SCC, in fact quite the opposite.
See the second season...I think you will be very pleasantly surprised.
And after you do you might see some strong parallels between MxO and T:SCC.

Dumb and Dumber is one of the best movie ever made. Watch it and try not to laugh.
Didn't really think you could get any worse than Terminator 3, but hey Bale putting on his batman voice for the whole film and Tim Burton's missus appearing for no good reason just about did it.
Also the dawning fact that for a skynet homebase, theres only 3 Terminators in its vast area of operations, only 3. What happened to those fantastic landscapes of Terminators in T2 combing the rubble for rebels? Oh wait no its just 2 wandering around and 80's Arnie hiding in steam room. Effects were top notch, story was absolute pants.
Still what more can you expect from the same directorial powerhouse that brought us Charlies Angels 1 and 2.
