a woman wouldn't really wear a short Gi with no pants unless she was trying to seduce or flirt with a male (or female... I guess). Personally I think that while testosterone levels might sink a bit with the change (they're still quite revealing at the top) perhaps a female MA in a tournament wearing a Gi might be regarded more for fighting skill than the boys waiting for her to do a sky high.

Come on, there are many other new stuff in this update then just the GI pants, witch i think is about time they came. We need Male Ninja mask!!!
Couldn't care less about the new stuff if it means taking away things I already liked. To use another Metaphor, "We are adding a new construct, but we are deleting Sakura"I know for a fact I would have used Pantless Gis a lot more than a face mask that currently goes with nothing.
EDIT: It is also the thought behind it too. It was brought up as a half joke and by the time 2 or 3 people aggreed, it was changed. Yet there is a massive long thrad about how those Agent spawns are annoying yet there is not even a comprimise.
...a flirtation device
If you do nothing else today, visit Doc Martin and Binary Boy. SSR Gear and 10 Fingers FTW!!!
I am very pleased I have a character in the 31-35 range today.....although I am a bit concerned about Binary's location in Creston. Those Neighborhood Watch clowns still aggro my 50, which doesn't bother me, but will hurt my 35. Maybe he can be moved away a little out of aggro range.

I complain if I dont agree, not for the fun of complaining. And those Agents have been there nearly a year now, and he has already edited them to make them friendly to Machs. And I used that Gi a lot, so I feel strongly when it is taken away without a real reason and when a good few other people in this thread have also disaggreed with the change.
It seems that a lot of content in MxO has come round to annoy half of the community to cheer the other half up.

You can't please everyone. There's always someone here to complain about something. I guess that's the balance of the community. It's usually the same crowd so really there's no surprise anymore.
I wouldn't have minded if they added another Gi which had pants, but they didn't, they replaced something which is a different story. But far be it from me to voice my oponion, I mean I only pay a subscription.
Well I guess I'm indifferent because I don't like Gis to begin with. They' cool in a dojo but that's where it ends for me. I'd much rather have an existing item, I don't wear, changed (for better or worse) than take up database space and prevent us from getting clothing that I may really want to wear in the future.
The lesser of two evils, imo.

Nevermind.
It's a fine update. Always nice to have new stuff every update. I don't know why people are blowing a head gasket over the Gis. It's not exactly a surprise, I remember seeing a pic of the new pants-ed Gi from Rare somewhere. Don't remember exactly where. I don't recall a big uproar then.

Ok... I promise not to whine, but I have say one more thing about the Gi. Phor me, personally, I don't like the addition of pants to it. I was wearing my blue (teal) Gi when I hit level 50, a LONG time ago. I consider it my most valued momento or keepsake in MxO. I even said so in my Op profile:
Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so what is it and why do you keep it? "I thought long and hard about this and it's actually a piece of clothing anyone can get. It's the Teal and Black Gi I was wearing when I leveled to 50."

So, yeah... I'm not too happy about the Gi change. I do like all the other additions, and I really like that they've cleaned up the colors on the Gi. But I sure will miss the version without the pants. I also pheel that it was originally designed around the Orisis phlick too... it's just a shame. (I'll shut up now, just wanted to say how I really phelt about it)
Good stuff. I was already looking forward to the gun models but some of the "new" clothing has me interested. I really was expecting a tad more MA wise but who knows maybe there's something down the road.
Any additions to missions such as the Crit rewards is always good news. Honestly I still think the bulk of the game revolves around the mission system and any new content there really helps. But I still think the mission system in general needs more work then anything else. Its a tool that provides EXP for leveling, Info, Moves the story along, provides drops and encourages group play which I think is critical for keeping MMO interests up (rather then Farming and Player v Player combat). There's probably quite a bit more that missions could offer. If the rewards is the start for more attention for the mission system I think thats a good sign.
...as for the Gi, I don't think I even remember seeing the post complaining about it. I've seen posts for Agent Spawns, Org Weapons (which I'm still holding my breath for), and Red Heart Boxers no Gi complaints. Seems like a odd change. Couldn't they have just added a new Stocking model for the pants? Those would've shown with the Gi anyway and less people would have to change their wardrobes. Doesn't really effect me though, but if they do end up having two Gis for females I'm gonna make a request for the Cut-sleeve Gi for the Gents. ![]()
P.S I assume Liaisons got their spawn tools? Yes/No?
i think it was wrong to give the female gi pants. it is an exclusive article of clothing that mxo has. break out ur dvd's and watch the animatrix.
for people who complained that it too short, too revealing, too sexy; whatever? gett a life, it makes me sick to hear people complain and push their high moral ideas unto the devs in an attempt to get them to change something they dont like. especially since it has been around for soo long.
whats next?
get rid of sexy mood, sultry mood, drunk mood, drink bottle, cake, certain dresses, the dances, tatoos
mmmmm
most females are already in game protesting the gi by walking around naked
what happens now; get rid of nakedness?
lol

There's ONE man adding content to a slowly dieing game, he even warned that it would be hard for him to get all the new weapons in this update and he did! ONE man gets to put a ton of hours in to make hundreds happy and all of you complain about a friggin Gi. Give Rarebit some props for doing something that no one else will nor wants too.

Go Play WoW and ride off into the sunset on a friggin fairy horse
I will enjoy the guns when I find some (Havent yet), I will enjoy the SSR Clothing when I get a chance to farm them (darn being unable to farm the 45 Earpiece or get anywhere near the 70 Earpiece from the ocean of Machs on the Helipad), I have already gotten 2 IS Boosters which I will use when I have a reason to. But until I get round to that content, I will discuss the content change I have seen, the female Gi.
Unnecessary, lost its Gi-look with tight-ish pants and a lot more of this community are against it than for it so why change it?

Huh? Since when were they "skanky" in the first place? I thought the Gi was a nod/reference to FFOTO.
Anyways "de-skankifying"stuff in MxO could be a slippery slope... I don't think we should go down that road.

Why SHOULD we have to deal with it? Because Rarebit is one man.
Also: He made the decision to do it. Would you really want one patch to contain pants, a hotfix next week containing NO pants, then a weeks worth of flaming and pointless discussion only for it to be changed back again, and the cycle again repeats?

I'm in his boat here...it's pretty simple...Part of the game is the visuals changing the Gi's changes the visuals. Granted its not gameplay but the visuals are a inherent part of this game. (take useropts for example)
don't like the look of the new GIs? Then don't wear them. It changes absolutely nothing within gameplay.
