Slow Patching or Problems with Patching:
In the vast majority of cases, this is due to a connection issue that is preventing the serverfrom sending you the information you need to complete the patching process. The first thing to try is tomake sure that you are not running any programs on the taskbar. If the problem persists, you should tryrunning under a clean boot as this will prevent any hidden programs from loading:
To disable background programs:
1.Select the START button.
2.Select RUN.
3.Type in "msconfig" (without the quotes)
4.Press OK
5.Select the STARTUP tab.
6.In the list, uncheck all boxes EXCEPT for SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY. If you use Windows XP, pleasenote that SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY will not be listed - just disable all.
7.Hit apply and then OK. Restart the computer and try to patch again.
If you are on a router you can review some of the most commonly used routers/firewalls and how to set themup from the below links. Keep in mind we do not support routers/firewalls/proxies/NATs etc. You will needto consult the included technical manual that came with your hardware/software or contact the manufactererof the device or software.
