The gif image that is shown is slightly in the same format as one that was given out to operatives by the architect. This was through Algorithm Black's snowblind event though.

The image given out had text written in hand writing on a background. the text itself does not match between the two images though.

Yes, my guess is A:B, because those pictures look exactly the same as those from the A:B event.

((Talk about envy in brackets. Aren't there items in game called scanline receivers that also make it look more official? Hidden LE chars and confusion FTW. That's what makes the story good.))

Aye, and i hope im not spoling anything by saying this, but my understanding through certain contacts is that all 3 orgs, across all 3 servers, have been getting different pieces of the image. Not to mention those obtained through Scanline members themselves.

Oh as for my 'two sets of images' theory in regards to A:B, it comes from this liasion quote;

"I know there's been a few puzzling images floating around Data Node One recently, however this appears to be different in both style and size so I don't believe it to be from the same source."

Hm. Kitasu kept sending me tells during the EPN/Carlyne event and he eventually showed up there. Figured it might be from this but I haven't been in much since then.

((And whether or not it's LESIG or A:B, who really cares. Just have fun and forget about the ZOMG PIECE OF CRAP REWARD!1!1111 FROM RAREBIT MIGHT BE MINE for awhile. There used to be a time when this game was intriguing because of the mystery involved and lately people have just been disregarding everything that isnt from Rarebit and it's just annoying.))

That someone should even have to ask why anyone cares if something is official or not rings serious alarm bells. ))

((The only thing I care about is whether or not it engages my attention and is fun. Rarebit, LESIG, A:B, player event, what have you matters little to me. I'm just saying I remember a time when player events were happening every other night and something awesome happened every weekend but once those reward items started going out, it changed the playing field and now nobody cares about any of the creativity that the community tries to put into genuinely interesting events. If that rings an alarm bell, well, I don't care quite frankly as long as you see what I'm getting at. The fact that you're getting a little worked up over the fact that all I'm saying is "just have fun with what's being tossed our way" has it's own alarm bells, you know.))

(( I'm not quite sure what event rewards have to do with this. If anything, they encourage people to attend official live events; they should do nothing to discourage unofficial events.

The reason I need to know if something's official is not because I refuse to attend player events, nor is it because I see no worth in player events because they don't have a reward. I need to know whether it's canon or not. Player RP, however elaborate, can't have higher priority than the story, even if Rarebit's take on the concept of canon is... lacking. I can't confidently post about a subject IC without knowing where it fits in the grand scheme of things.

The reason I have an issue with A:B in particular is because of the way they've handled themselves in some instances. I do appreciate what they're trying to do - a fact that can be easily overlooked in my, eh, outbursts. And it's great that some people can just have fun with whatever happens in the game no matter what its official status. However, I (and I'm not alone in this) need to know its status, that's all. ))

((And I can understand that. If a LE and a PE are happening at the same time, LE should get the priority. But what about instances where there are no LESIG people jacked in, or no LE's going on and somebody's hosting a particularly intriguing event. Do you just write it off in that situation simply because it isn't Rarebit/LESIG or do you entertain the possibility of checking it out?

And as far as A:B goes, I dunno. Today was the first day I had checked things out over there in a few weeks. I do know that judging from their forums they've been seemingly pretty tight lipped lately and haven't communicated OOC in about 2 months with the exception of notifications of forum maintenance/upgrades. Maybe they were listening to feedback? *shrug*

Anyways, my flag-waving has nothing to do with A:B really, just player events in general and the overall lack of interest when compared with other MMO's. I'm going to start a new thread for this discussion in general and stop derailing Virrago's topic.))

Spoke to both Kitasu and Diced recently, aparently some of this crew are out to discover something about a log, and the image frags are somehow connected to it, while the others think it's a waste of time and are much more interested in seeking knowledge etc.

Reading the journals, you get a strong and obvious sense of each crew member's personality.

Toro's a real egomaniac, tough guy; Kisoku loves scenery and poetry and has a keen eye for detail... An artist maybe; Kitasu's silly, and ZippytheSquirrel would say they're a rip-off; Phasmata is secretive, might have trust issues, conspiracy theorist, probably believes the moon landing and the crash site of Oceanic 815 were faked; Kabarr "doesn't put up with nonsense," probably likes to keep themself to things that are "serious business"; Piqo is like everyone's favorite Tripod webpage owner and I would assume is one of the youngest or less-exoerienced redpills on the crew; Diced seems very open-minded, and other than that is your standard level-headed person; and Caigne is a spectator, likes to keep a journal.


Interesting group of people.

(( Eh, what's all this about the BIP being used by Smith to transfer into a human body? The Machines were able to overwrite goodness knows how many Redpills and they didn't need the BIP for that.

If it's speculation, fine, but it needs a little tinkering. If it's the truth, I spot a nasty continuity breach. ))

((I thought Smith was a Virus and thats why he could overwrite a human mind, not due to an external program. We know the Machines have overwritten at least one Human mind permanently and probably thousands of others temporarily. Since Halborns showed interest in Neo and his abilty to destroy Sentinels in the real world, perhaps this BIP isn't for overwriting Human minds with Machine programs, but instead for overwriting Machine programs with Human minds...))

The 01mainframe Joker nodes also had lots of storyline speculations regarding Smith, Oracle, et cetera. I think we can take these simply as Phasma's opinions and not as any storyline concrete revelation -- how much is true and how much is just theory remains to be seen.

Wow, this just got interesting...er! An interesting proposal, I'm too far behind to get in on the game I think, but what with the possible Scanline announcement and UT and stuff I'm going to do my best to keep my eyes open from now on!
