Ok, fine.
But of all the infinate possiblities of events that we could of got, we end up just getting the same thing as last year. Ooh but it has new T-Shirts?! So WHAT, who wears those things.
At least give us a proper reward.

I really enjoyed the massive Smith attacks last year, and I really can't wait to this one! Infections/Zergs, this was my favourite event.

It would have been nice to see something, but in all fairness we just got Datamine that ran over-schedule. I think that must have taken alot of time up, and I bet the next few patches may show that SMILEY

I think the resources and hard work put into Datamine (which isn't even completed yet) took away from the possibilities of the Anniversay Event, which is a fair trade off considering our always terrible lack of resources by Papa SOE in the first place.

Ugh... Smith... again?

I'm not gonna girl-dog about this until we know for sure, but if that's it... my expectations have been pwned.

I'd much rather see a return of the Sleepwalkers. At least they had a "Story" we never knew where they came from or who was holding their leash.  And instead of more white on black t-shirts, how about we get some blue jeans, leather jackets, or a real top-coat, you know... with a belt.  An eye patch would be cool too. Yo ho!

I really hope this doesn't dominate live events, and that we can just proceed with the storyline like we did with the winter event this year.

If this is just last year's events plus items... Eh, I'm not all that impressed, really. And killing ubar smith has never been one of my life's goals, especially not if he's just going to come back around next year.

Meh, i'd always liked the fact the anniversary events were pretty much original content while the seasonals were the same but improved. Twas a nice format.

But if, like Rarebit said all those many moons ago, largely recycling content gives them more time to work on solid all year round stuff then i aint really gonna complain. I'll just skip this one out in my own little canonicity i have going in me head. heh.

Personally I don't have a problem with it storyline wise - Smith was an extremely poweful program that overwrote THE ENTIRE MATRIX - he didn't just make himself powerful or copy himself he even managed to change the nature of the simulation to what he wanted ("do you like what I've done with the place?"SMILEY - a program that powerful and widespread, even when defeated would be very difficult to completely erradicate and so traces of the virus eventually managed to replicate and grow after about 2 years and made their presence in the matrix felt. So the program was beaten back, but now it has grown and has returned again and it's up to us to make sure it doesn't get any more powerful.


So yeah I'd have preferred something new, of course I would, but I can understand why and I hope there'll be enough tweaks to make this year as memorable as last year. In terms of story I think it fits ok and doesn't need to be a problem - but they'd better not use it for next year!!!

Like a couple of others have said, we've just had a brand new construct made for us, something that took a lot of time and hasn't been done since the game was released. If anyone's seriously expecting an entirely new and original anniversary event, they need to get a better grip on reality.

By all rights they could give us nothing new at all, but they're still trying. Be a little more appreciative.

I don't see why people are getting miffed about this. It's established fact that Rarebit recycles Season content so that he can focus on other things.

However, I doubt you'll see an exact carbon copy of last year's event, because, well... Smith must've made some progress, right? SMILEY

I enjoyed last years Anniversary Event, but to rehash it this year would be a big disappointment.  The 1st Anniversary Event was pretty fun, not so much the concerts, more the Live Event where DEVs jacked in as characters, there was a chase, kill, etc.  I'm also sure many creative players enjoyed making their videos for the concert.
As far as storyline goes, I agree the Cypherite story is dead, and bringing back the Sleepwalkers would not be a good idea.  Plus, we're... I mean the Sleepwalkers have long been defeated.
My wish would be a return to the 1st Anniversary Event, more of a Live Event on the last couple days, or 1st and last days, with spwns to kill for items to trade in to fetch rewards.  I don't think we should bring back the shirts from the 2nd Anniversary Event, it should be a special item pertaining to that Event, just like the Blue Sky items not being brought back the year after.

I think Rarebit said this will be starting 2 weeks before the update.  So it will start when 9.3.5 goes live and finish when 10.1.1 goes live.

Our anniversary is March 19th, and updates usually happen on Thursday...  so, I figure it'll happen on March 20th.

Couldn't agree more brother. Oh and in terms of T-shirt design, the sleeves have to be mirror images of eachother, he said that when he was talking about designing the fanfaire shirt. And I'm sure there are other hiccups, but in the long run I could care less. Last year was fun, and I was a lowbie! But still the big smith fights were great! The only thing I would ask for is just to see rarebit, 9mm or walrus in game just as themselves to party with us...virrago can come to.

Well, last year the development team had to make the Smithlings, the smith virus ability, the consumables, the shirts, etc in a relatively short amount of time. They've been busy releasing data mine recently, so I don't really care terribly if there's no outstanding new content to go with this new anniversary.

I think these shirts use the same old templates as the old "Security" shirts worn by the Blue Sky NPC's.  I don't wear them anyways so I don't really care one way or the other.  Unless, we can have this one ingame:

Resourses are tight, besides I enjoyed last years Smith Event, and I'm sure it will be fun for those who have just joined MxO mid summer last years to beginning of this year.

Those that are disappointed, don't let that spoil it for you, live it up, make the most of it and i'm sure this year will be epic.

I had a bad, two-month-long attack of continous anxiety last winter/spring, so I barely was able to take part in last year's anniversary event at all. Glad to see the stuff from last year making a return, and some new stuff to add a little kick to it!

Yea, what a load of crap.  Ive already canceled one account and was going to wait on canceling this one till the event was over but why even wait?
