Well, I had a quick browse over the forums to see if we had one of these like the Heroes one, I didn't spot one so I figured I might aswell make one.
So anyway, discuss everything Lost here!
What better way that to start it with Season 4's first episode?
Including all the tear-jerking moments about Charlie , That was a good base to start the season off on, I thought. What most intregued me was Hurley stumbling accross Jacobs cabin, and was there someone else inside it? I think thats probably worth revisiting, the person who came to the window looked Asian for the brief second we got to look at him.
Very pleased that Jeremy Davies is one of the new additions to the show he's a great actor, he was excellent in Solaris and Saving Private Ryan.
I need to look again, but I reckon the guy in the chair was Jacob and the guy who appeared at the window was Locke. We had a close up of his eye the first time we saw the cabin, so it'd make sense if they did it again. Locke having a chat with Jacob? Perhaps receiving orders?
No idea how the cabin vanished, though. It was probably never there, so close to the beach, or else they'd've stumbled upon it ages ago.
Yeah you're right, that was Jacob and Locke. Judging by an... interesting Dharma initiative video I saw, I think Jacob might become are more and more important character this season.
Eh, I looked again and now I'm not sure who was in the shack. The guy in the chair was wearing a suit, and looked like either Jack or Jack's dad (though that could still mean it's Jacob - the last Missing Pieces episode showed Jack's dad on the island, and that could have been a manifestation of Jacob).
The guy at the window, on the other hand, had hair, so it couldn't have been Locke. Maybe that was Jacob; I seem to recall him having hair when we first glimped him.

I felt, before this episode, that Jacob might have actually been Christian Shepard. The fact Jack spoke as if he was alive in that final episode in season 3 well I was torn between whether he was just going crazy or whether he actually was alive. The state he was in would lead you to believe he was going crazy, but we've been lead to believe something like that before.
Oh, and unless I've mistaken something, how did Locke know Charlie was dead?? Locke wasn't on the beach when Desmond came back, nor did he hook up with their travelling party through the woods, not until he came accross Hurley at least, right?
The hidden text on that website is interesting.. o.O
Also, that was a suspenseful episode; between Hurley's experiences to the whole Jacob thing. It raised more questions by the end of that episode than what I was left with from season 3.
I had the impression from the "Disappearing cabin" that Hurley found and turned away from the original cabin, started running in the opposite direction, and it appeared in front of him again. Whether it was his imagination or the island tricks is another thing, but he did make himself stop seeing the cabin illusion.

Yeah I'm more curious about those "New Arrays" stuffs though...
Seeing this with commercials every 8 minutes was a pain, after rewatching all of season 1 and some of season 3 without commercials >:[.
I just watch it online -- 2 minutes of commercials tops, which I watch at once then click to the beginning and see it all the way through. It's in good quality as well (and can be watched in fullscreen!), and the only way i'll see it since I have night classes on Thursdays.
Before and after Miles goes upstairs and does his "thing".
Found this on Lostpedia forums.
*edit*
Host must have taken down the image. Basically, the pictures positioning and frames(possibly even details) on the wall of the elderly womans wall all change after Miles has gone upstairs and done his "thing". I'd be suprised if it was a production error because in filming they'd probably film him going up the stairs, then back down 10 seconds later. So, there's no need for them to change the pictures around or change the frames around.
31 minute time difference between when something physical arrives on the island from when it's supposed to, is that because it doesn't follow the specific bearing that Daniel was talking about? If you don't follow the specific bearing, do you get stuck? Do you end up getting caught in some kind of time warp thingy? :S
I expect there'll be an incident on the boat, hopefully Desmond doesn't die or anything. I wonder if Bens man on the boat might have been the pilot Frank, though, and not Wincowski or Regina.
Ben being Sayids boss in the future was crazy too. I'm wondering if Sayid ends up being the one in the casket in Jacks flash forward in season 3.
Miles: "Of course I'm affected. She was hot and I dug her accent"
Didn't have the same shock ending as the last episode in my opinion (recognised Ben's voice right away) but still a awesome episode. Good to know that the Oceanic 6 are not the only ones who are off the island and I'm glad Ben is still alive even if he isn't playing a big role actually on the island at the moment he's a great character. Daniel and Frank are my favourite characters out of the new ones and I think Charlotte will be a good one once she gets more screentime but I cant stand Miles, he just seems like a *CENSORED* to me.

Yeah, first line sounded exactly like him. The fact that it's not just the Oceanic 6 who get off the Island opens it to at least having Desmond get off the Island (woot) but I hope Juliet doesn't ;p
Miles is an *CENSORED*, but he's funny at times. He seems to be one in the group in the get in and get the job done kind of mould, which I think is necessary considering Daniels lack of mental stability and Charlotte is obviously there to investigate around a bit. I'm not entirely sure he really wants to be there, as much as the other team members seem to want to to investigate.
Interesting how electro-magnetics throws off the human mind that way. The time traveling bit threw me off, but it looks like most of the paradox theories about the island that Yas and I have talked about to this point were made a little more concrete last night.
Might be because it's one of the few that actually provides some solid answers instead of just more questions. =P
Good point.. there really wasn't a huge cliffhanger at the end like there was for about 95% of the show The literal 'time difference' between the island and the rest of the world is certainly interesting.

Yea I like the big cliffhanger at the end that usually happens but it did sort of 'confirm' that Daniel has been having these flashbacks/time travelling for a while and also it was why he wanted to help Desmond so much.
This recent episode was my *favourite*, Kate is soooo pretty. Who are the other 5 that get off the island though?
Kate wasn't really in this week's episode--you must have been thinking of last week's. o.O (But yes, she is very pretty)
Well, we know that Kate, Jack, Sayid, Hurley, and Claire's baby made it out. That's 5, 4 if you don't count the baby, but I don't think it's fair not to. Either I missed the 5/6, or they haven't given a hint as of yet. It is only the 4th episode, after all.
Maybe the last survivor will be Ben as we have now seen him with sayid in the future. Either somehow forming a fake identity to say that he was one of the passengers, or getting people in high places to add him on to the list of passengers that were on the flight. From what we've seen he has a lot of power and resources and I wouldn't be suprised if he could do pretty much anything he wanted. Does he really want to stay on the island for good? Or is it all hidden agendas...
It would kinda suck, I think, if Ben was one of the Oceanic 6. I suppose the way he's been built up, he might well be able to manipulate things to get on the passengers list, but I think thats a wasted slot because it appears he's been coming and going from the Island a lot.
I wouldn't count Aaron as one of the Oceanic 6 either, since he wouldn't have been on the manifest, I expect they may have kept him hidden.
The person in the casket is a puzzling one. If I had to guess, I'd maybe say that it's someone not revealed yet as an Oceanic 6 member *or* maybe even(heaven forbid) Hurley. It seems like it would be someone who has a bit of popularity judging by the questions Jack asked.
I loved the last episode though, fantastic. One of, if not the best episodes to date. Kinda sucked to see Minkowski die in that episode, but I suppose we'll likely see something more about him in a flashback or something.
Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that perhaps Bens man on the boat could be...Michael?
I thought that about michael, it's possible him and walt got caught on the boat when they left the island, and michael may be the one on the boat. Possibly even acting as bens spy.
The latest episode was awesome, especially with Faraday's book at the end, he could well have possibly purposefully have used Desmond so that he would end up as his constant should anything go wrong.
Also that episode probably explains why desmond said 'see you in another life brother' to jack way back in the episode where they met in the stadium.
As for the oceanic 6, we already have Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid. So that to me leaves, sawyer, or perhaps sun and jin.
But i guess time will tell...
I also think the guy who's behind it all could well possibly be penny's father.
Lemme add aswell that i read somewhere that its possible James could have been having the flashbacks before he got on the island, as a result of exposure to too much radiation from his research before heading for the island. Thats why the people on the boat referred to him as a nutcase. Now we all know that the island has shown some healing properties or something before...rose, and locke. So that's another aspect to consider.
I liked the episode but I don't like this time traveling aspect thing they're adding simply because I don't want Lost turning into a Lazer Pew-pew, island that's in another dimension with healing properties that causes riffs in the space-time continuum blah blah blah.
I liked it better when it seemed like the Dharma Initiative was a creepy company that is doing weird experiments with the losties, etc. But I guess we'll see how this plays out.
If that is really whidmore's intentions then this will mark the first time Ben has ever told the whole truth about something. There is definitely some other intention there, especially if this is being revealed now, with 2 and half more season left, and if they are still fighting in the future, ie Sayid killing off people for Ben.
So lets just assume things...
Mike is on the boat?
Hurley was in the casket?
Whidmore has some rediculous ties to Hanso?
On a side note. A friend and I were discussing this and it seems that every person who has gotten off of the island is troubled by the fact that they are off. Hurley is going crazy and they keep checking to make sure he didn't tell any body. Jack is ok with it, but we've seen that with time he even contemplate suicide. Kate has arron for some reason, but there is tension between her and Jack because she has arron. and Sayid made some decision with his heart instead of his gun and now he is stuck working for Ben. We think that each of the people who have gotten of did it at the expense of another, possibly even directly being given the choice. Maybe even so drastic as "You get off, Sawyer dies." etc. Although I did like the thought that ben gets them off so that people stop searching for the island and those who get off are strategically chosen.
I'm hoping there's more to the Widmore thing than we're being told. I mean, the guy seems to have more than enough money to throw around so it'd be kinda dumb if he went to all this trouble(and expense) to find an island so difficult to find, then again people with that kind of money tend to want only one thing: more money.
We saw, when Desmond was back in the past, Widmore buying a journal from the Black Rocks first mate the contents of which were only known by the Hanso family. I don't think Widmore was in league with the Hanso family, because Alvar Hanso is the CEO of the company that funded/funds Dharma. The CEO of the company that funded Dharma would know how to reach the island and would want to keep him away from it originally. I'm thinking maybe Widmore used the journal as a bargaining chip to find out from Alvar Hanso or perhaps when Dharma were wiped off the island, Alvar came to join forces with Widmore.
It looks like it's Michael on the boat, although the thought did cross my mind that it'd maybe be Walt.
Also, it said we'll find out the last of the Oceanic Six. Whats intreguing about that is the terminology used. Its quite plausible that they'll reveal two, and if they do, I'm expecting it to be Sun and Jin. Who seem to just keep living for the sake of having more marriage issues >_>
Widmore and Paik Industries worked together to build an offshore platform for the Hanso Foundation. There was an ARG attached to the show called the "Lost Experience", where you followed the workings of the Hanso Foundation and one of it's corrupted members, Thomas Mittelwerk.
Mittelwerk was actually in the Lost Video game, briefly. However, the shows writers said that the game can't be taken as canon(Quite right too, really). However, Lost Experience is considered canon.
