What is a Fan Faire?
The SOE Fan Faire is a Sony Online Entertainment-sponsored event designed to allow players the chance not only to meet one another, but also many of the more prominent SOE personalities. It's a great opportunity to meet the real people behind the online avatars and the game itself. Though attendees will have plenty of opportunity to mingle freely with one another and make new friends, they'll also have the chance to participate in a number of panel discussions and game-themed live events.
When and where are the Fan Faire events held?
Fan Faire events are held in various regions throughout the U.S. and occur annually. We try to choose locations that will accommodate as many players as possible.
It won't be outside of the US. The cost of shipping SOE's staff members out to the UK along with food for them and then allow them all 2 days off for rest and recouperation isn't going to be something that benefits SOE financially or practically, no matter how many turn up.
Just incase anyone missed it, the above reason is why the chances are slim to zero of a Fan Faire being outside of the US.
I'll be back in school by the time the Vegas one rolls around, and Orlando is closer to me. Sad, it doesn't really have a chance being that it's split between two dates.

Lame excuses. SOE is a global company not just US.
I voted for Vegas. I'd honestly rather have it be in San Diego or something (I have a lot of friends down there), but the timeframe isn't convenient for me.
It's too bad there wasn't one poll for the time, and another for the date, but maybe that simply wasn't possible.
(Regardless of whether or not I'll be able to attend this year, I'll try to organize a mass-MxO signup so we can all score some half-price tickets.)
How does this work anyway? Aside from paying for our own transport, what else do we have to pay? There are the Fan Faire tickets themselves, and then... do we have to stay in the same hotel? I gather they have discounted prices for the Fan Faire, but does anyone have an idea how much that is? Or is it - please god - included in the Fan Faire ticket?

Last year we payed for flights out there, the hotel room(which doesn't need to be at the venue fan faire is being held at) and Fan Faire tickets(Pre-registering, once thats possible to do, makes it cheaper by like $40 I think. I forget).

While we may sell our games globally, the majority of our staff is in the USA.
I cannot stress enough to all those European players who would like to come out to the SOE Fanfaire, please cast your vote for Orlando, Florida. It makes for a shorter trip and probably will be more economical than traveling halfway across the US to Las Vegas........ Again....
Las Vegas is currently in the lead as the potential city for this years FanFaire once more, lets change that!

Virrago... please can you change the links at the top of this thread or make a new one. We had so many people voting before, and now very phew. They locked the old poll and created a new one... so we ALL need to vote again!

They always do that after I go home for the day LOL... I'll be updating the links and stuff today.
Due to some changes in hotel choices for Fan Faire the poll has been changed. Alas when changes are made to the polls the current votes are reset. Instead of resetting the current poll we will have a brand new poll for you to vote on.
We love seeing the enthusiasm of our communities when it comes to Fan Faire! We apologize for the inconvenience running a new poll may cause, however it is only fair to give you the chance to select your favorite date and location from the new choices.
I've never been to one, and really really want to go to this one. Vegas in September gives people more time to plan and save up too.... plus, it's the cheapest of the choices, and soooo much more to do there. Personally, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else to have it. (Unless they had it in Dallas)
Ok *CENSORED* is up with people and Vegas. The last Fanfaire was there and frankly it gets kinda old REALLY fast. Have it on the east coast this year for God's sake. Not to mention the fact that we can get A LOT of our Euro players to come out and enjoy it! That being said, I implore our Euro players to vote...
