Rumor calls him the future, but he's digging in the past. The questions he asks: Neo, Trinity; what can they mean to him?

@Chem - 1999 rather >_< (( but ppl need to stop saying ill trade ya for such and such info. Not like there going to get a chance to discuss or alter anything via the storyline planned out any whom. ))

I say this guy is an oddjob ..... says if were not going for power.. were going for love and sensual conduct... Well how about hate, Anguish, Envy? you know all those in a bundle?

Interesting.. So Henry is looking for information on Neo and Trinity.

The intruder is "fishing". By rounding up as many people as possible and ask random questions he hopes to hit "Bingo" to what he actually wants. Usually you do that on forums, but I guess it works better if he turns up personally.

That means that whatever the real reason why he asked those questions is still hidden to us and his interest into this conversation was superificial. One could easily get the feeling from him, since he took out random information, said something in "mhm... interesting"-mannerish fashion, then went on to the next question. He was pushing on with his fishing.

What is he looking for?

What he didn't say speaks volumes in its conspicuous absence.
Intruder: Oh, quite.
Intruder: No. If I had I wouldn't be here.
Intruder: ...
Intruder: The two who visited the Machine city.
Intruder: Neo and Trinity.
Intruder: Yes. But while they were here...
Intruder: They exhibited hacking abilities at an unusual level, correct?
Intruder: I want you to tell me about the things they did in the simulation.
Intruder: Saved you?
Intruder: Part of that...bargain he made with the Machines?
Intruder: Mhm, I already know about that...
Intruder: The man, for instance--Anderson.
Intruder: Fought Agents, didn't he?
Intruder: Did he explain how he was able to defeat them?
Intruder: He could see and manipulate the code of the simulation? ...
Intruder: This man... He was awoken from the pods, like the rest of you?
Intruder: By the woman?
Intruder: Bah.. Belief...
Intruder: And after his awakening, he served as part of Morpheus' crew, with the woman?
Intruder: Yes, yes...
Intruder: Love... Pfah.
Intruder: How can you be so sure of that?
Intruder: They were...obvious?
Intruder: Hmh.
Intruder: The man...visited the Machines. He spoke to the Architect?
Intruder: Afraid...
Intruder: The man threatened the simulation? I thought he struck a bargain to save it from the virus.
Intruder: Hm...
Intruder: Part of it?
Intruder: The Architect claimed this, I suppose?
Intruder: Just a moment...
Intruder: He met with the Architect...
Intruder: Is that where this "equation" idea came up?
Intruder: Yes... That fits his character. He *would* say something like that...
Intruder: Enough.
Intruder: And this man, Neo...
Intruder: ...could fly?
Intruder: What else could he do in the Matrix?
Intruder: Hm?
Intruder: You can all do that, can't you?
Intruder: Ah.
Intruder: Resurrection, flight, telekinesis...
Intruder: Mh. What about the woman?
Intruder: Someone mentioned hacking... What else did she hack?
Intruder: Hm...
Intruder: Are you talking about love again?
Intruder: I'm familiar enough with the emotion.
Intruder: She was a hacker, he was a telekinetic...
Intruder: I've heard "the Source" talked about in relation to the man. This was something involved in the Architect's equation?
Intruder: Curious...
Intruder: There was the virus he fought--Smith.
Intruder: He destroyed this virus, yes? How?
Intruder: Hmh. More of the Architect's "equation," I suppose.
Intruder: Yes, I'm afraid that it is...
Intruder: Job? I am a free agent... As I suppose you all would like to believe yourselves to be.
Intruder: Yes, although most of you deny it...
Intruder: Me, worked for the System? That's a good one.
Intruder: Wouldn't you?
Intruder: Of course. Authority is just a concept.
Intruder: Does it look like I need more power?
Intruder: Power? Yes, I suppose that's all many of you think about... The ones who aren't obsessed with love or sex, at any rate...
Intruder: Of course. How do you think I got here? You don't still think I'm a program, do you?
Intruder: No, I don't think I want you coming over for dinner, thanks very much.
Intruder: I suppose they were making some demand for me to leave.
Intruder: They aren't very bright.
Intruder: I must have missed the memo.
Intruder: Mh...
Intruder: I wanted to know more about the two who visited the Machines...
Intruder: But I can see that most of what you claim to know about them is based on speculation, or the tale told by the Machines...
Intruder: Speak to the Machines? That hasn't been very useful...
Intruder: You know some other human who reached the Machine city and spoke to them there?
Intruder: Pray for his return, then...
Intruder: Yes, I suppose so.
Intruder: Oh, excuse me. Where are my manners?
Intruder: Thank you for entertaining my questions.
Intruder: I'll keep that in mind.
Intruder: Yes... But you haven't been as helpful as you fear...
Intruder: Obviously, I'm going to have to look into this myself.
Intruder: What the devil makes you think I give a *CENSORED* about that?

You know what would be a cool event? A sort of.. hm, riddle-labyrinth.. Answer the riddle or question right and proceed through a gauntlet-type thing. Is that feasible? eh who knows.

At least some of you realised he was just pumping you for information. The rest of you were happy to present him with whatever he seemed to want. I have to wonder why? In fact I can guess why but it looks like he has no interest in helping you or anyone except himself. So please keep on furnishing him with information, it seems that some of you don't care what his real intentions are and how they could effect everyone inside or outside the simulation. You'd really kick yourselves if your 'help' came back to bite....

Mind you... he did give away some subtle details which I'm surprised noone asked him about.... Whether they were his real beliefs or just an attempt at another avenue of discussion which noone appeared to notice remains unclear....

((Oh for a really good spam filter, hell even a basic one would do.  I'd say Rarebit maintained considerable constraint by not ignoring some people in that event....))

No, he's pointing out the unnecessary reply of "Yes" by EVERYONE in the meeting to several of the Intruder's questions, resulting in spammed area chat.

I thought it was apparent that the Intruder wasn't a program since the brief show of his Real World form watching the deal between Neo and Dues on the monitors.

No, this thing is a redpill of some kind... the question is his origin.

I remember during the time of the Novalis II, the old LET made mention of how there were theories that the Machines had been experimenting with the human genome when growing new humans.  I'm wondering if that has anything to do with this guy, or could be related at all.  It could explain his...  abilities.
#36300387045 01/15/2008 07:40:00 Re:[9.2.1] "She was a hacker, he was a telekinetic" - Recursion - 1/11/08

I was able to read a full transcript of this encounter with both the Intruder and the Morpheus sim, and I have one thing to say:

"Um, Zion? Don't you remember that the Morpheus sim sold you out to the Machines? That he gave them the information they needed to lock your veteran operatives' signals, so they could be killed inside the Matrix? Why are most of you bowing and scraping and acting like this person is your best friend?"

Illyria

PS: And why are you telling the Intruder everything he wants to know?  Just because he doesn't like the Machines, that doesn't automatically make him your friend.  Anome didn't like the Machines either, and neither did the General...

His reply to my one question was worrying.

"Some men arnt looking for anything logical, they cant be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just wana watch the world burn."

What a disgusting, shameful display.  I am ashamed to stand with many of you as a Zionite.  Especially you, PS10N, as you groveled at the Morpheus Sim's feet.  I had a lot of respect for you, but now most of that is out the window.  This Sim was the cause of many of Zion's most experienced operatives' deaths!

Jesus H Christ, I'm agreeing with Illyria here!  We lost a lot of good people because of that bastard... we fought tooth and nail to get some of those folks out, most of which were unsuccessful!  This guy traded OUR lives so that he could chat it up with Cryptos!

HE IS NOT MORPHEUS!!!  He is a disgusting display of a once great man!  And don't even get me started on the real Morpheus, who was responsible for the deaths of many innocent bluepills who drowned in their pods due to his code bombing spree.

As far as the Intruder goes, you all just blabbed and blabbed to him about whatever he wanted.  God *CENSORED*, people!  Haven't you learned ANYTHING in the two and a half years most of us have been awakened?  Haven't you learned anything from your dealings with the Merovingian?  "I have something you want, you must have something *I* want."

Think before you all start opening your traps for once!

EDIT:  ((Just to stop any potential Recursion drama that may arise from the above post...  I am completely IC.  OOC, mad love to PS10N.))

It is amusing that of all the questions and answers thrown around, only a few of you actually caught onto the important stuff. Unfortunately those that did have good questions were drowned out by all the people that think by asking the right question they will earn a perpetual item.

I am not going to offer help to Zion, please keep up the.... work you are doing, thanks to transcripts such as this some of us will be able to pull out the truths from that rabble of nonsense.
#36300387089 01/15/2008 08:45:06 Re:[9.2.1] "She was a hacker, he was a telekinetic" - Recursion - 1/11/08
I have to side with Fen here.

We learned a valuable lesson with the General in that we can't open ourselves up to someone that stands to gain more form us than we do of him, without having good reason or incentive to do so. We have to stop opening ourselves up like this. The man's been at our systems for crying out loud! We can't just give this guy information without knowledge of what he's going to do with it.

I agree with Fen on this Morpheus sim business as well. We have to look out for our own, and he obviously is more interested in getting his own "information" than helping us. As I've said before, I actually think this sim goes back to the days of the bombings, in part because the General showed on the scene at the same time, but there's still no reason to give ourselves away to people "disguised" or coded as our friends.
#36300387091 01/15/2008 08:51:44 Re:[9.2.1] "She was a hacker, he was a telekinetic" - Recursion - 1/11/08

((Wow, if I were at an event like this (I've never been in any Live Event...ever) I would cry.  The rediculous spam and accusations...I guess its to be expected.  and what is with all the movie/popular quotes? I saw, "He saved us.  He saved them.  He saved the matrix." like three times, and they were mostly random and not related to what The Intruder said.))

So thats what he's after.

Quite right, Collbard.  It may not exactly be clear quite yet, but it is making a little more sense at the least.

Eh-heheheh, idiots. That is all.

(( I'm getting annoyed at how half the transcript is lost because Rarebit won't use all the screenshots (or doesn't take enough or whatever). I know most of the stuff is spam and distilled stupidity in text form (hoorah for elitism!), but there was some important stuff from the Intruder that got lost. Thanks to Psion for pointing it out.

I reckon the text log should be posted as well, or linked to somewhere. For one thing it'll ensure nothing gets lost, and for another, we can actually search for phrases! It's hard to back up arguments when most of the evidence is text within large images. ))

Heh, why not? What would he do? Decide to kill you all for your impudence? Just leave giving no answers? Would you have any more info than what you have now? I'm sure it's not beyond Zion's capability of appointing one person to speak for everyone, but even those who became aware of what was happening were ignored by those who bowed down to the intruder...

For me, a short meeting where no answers were given which would have confused the intruder or even annoyed him to the point of him possibly giving information away, would be a lot more interesting then a bunch of Zionites clamouring to be the one to give him that one little piece of info that he 'wants'. But hey... that's just me...

((Yeah, thankyou PS10N for the intruder transcript))

((It's an Event, most people just want to play along. And that's the unfortunate thing. Most LEs do not make us think of our own. I for my part, was silent during the whole convo because I knew that anything I would have said, would have not changed the outcome of the LE, simply for the reason of area spammage (no self-dicipline in posting) and ignoring of serious posts.

If that had been a Mech event, I don't doubt that there would have been less spammage (unfortunately that's the truth) and more consideration towards when to post what. Nonetheless most people still would have tagged along with it.))

That's why I hate mobs. Useless questions, uniform answers, predictable outcome. If he really wanted information, he would have arranged a more private conversation. But on the other hand, that just shows that the mob is easily manipulated and those who see that can't do a thing against it.

I have to agree with Fen I can't believe that zion is bowing and groveling(sp) especially to the dang sim that sold us out, and killed our operatives he may not have pulled the trigger(so to speak) but he gave the machines the means to do it. And why the HECK would you just keep running your mouths answering every little question he wants to know. Yay for potentially opening doors that could come back to bite zion in the butt. We just seem to never learn from our mistakes. But the intruders questions were interesting to see and try to glean information from.

PS: where is it possible to get that full transcript from?

Hehehe, Oh God...Do Zionist ever learn?  At this point I think every Zionist now has a shovel and is digging Zion's grave...  Jeezus, you guys spill more beans than a High School Gossiper.

And that's what it was, gossip. Things everyone knows, most probably even him. This conversation wasn't aimed to find answers to those questions. It was to find information to -his- questions by random, which could be even more dangerous if he really found out something.

Also, do not throw all Zionites in one pot. Fallen Horizon has watched this conversation and nobody of us, as far as I know, agreed with the methodes applied here.

All the "Trinity was a hacker" coming from the Intruder made me consider that while Neo controlled the Source in the Real (moving the Sentinels and such), perhaps Trinity too was special and subconsciously hacked Neo back to life. I previously had just taken his ressurection as some miracle that happened integral to his journey as the One... I never looked at it this way. While Neo was the One, Trinity too had her own "powers."

And the other great "take it by faith" part of Revolutions, "how exactly was smith defeated" comes into questioning here... were Neo and Smith really opposites, or was that just speechifying coming from the Architect? If they weren't, and the Machines didn't press some magic button while Smith overwrote Neo, something else had to have happened... more mysteries eh.

Amazing, you had a ton of people and no one deigned to figure out that one of the most effective ways to dig out information is to answer a question with a question.

EXAMPLE

Intruder: "Hey what happened to Morpheus, Trinity, and Neo?"

Good Answer: "You mean you don't know?"

Bad Answer: "Well blah blah blah, and then Morpheus blah blah then Trinity blah blah blah.....etc etc."

I have to agree with Fen as well (well I/C Barloke would have laughed at all of this at first but would admit that Fen had a valid point).

With all that information just being tossed at the Intruder to just get scraps back I was wondering how long it would take for somebody to give the Intruder co-ords to New Zion...

(Yes, I thought that too.. maybe Neo used his telekenetic abilities to control smiths brainwaves or something once he was inside smith, similar to how he destroyed him in the first film:)  )
