My issue with it is that it simply looks huge. I was thinking it'd be a little more proportionate.I agree. Just looks massive. I guess we'll see tomorrow, or whenever the first one gets done (which should be tomorrowMaybe it's just the angle at which the picture is taken.

Pretty much all of my thoughts have already been posted by others, but in a nutshell:
- Wow, it's big... too big, IMO.
- Having it on a timer is kind of silly, but at the same time, as Vinia's said, if it wasn't half of the population would be running around with swords on their back all the time, which would be even sillier.
- If this can be done, then are holsters or similar things possible? (For me, I'd like the body strap holsters a la Neo in the Lobby scene).
- I might grind for it once I've got the chapter clothes I want and I've seen just how bad/good it looks on others. Definitely not an OMG I NEED THAT NOW!!! thing
The lack of permanance immediately kills any chance it had of being an "OMG I need to have that now!" item, since for about the same grind, you can get a physical item which will not deactivate out of the blue and... honestly, how ridiculous would it look to have a sword on your back for two minutes, only to have it disappear? Meh.
I don't care that everyone would be running around with it - it's a fad, just like the Area K was. For the love of God, you can't tell me you didn't see everyone and their brother with a flippin' Area K the first month or so after that was released, but now it's disipated. The same would happen with a perpetual sword.
Dunno... I just really think it sounds absurd to have a sword on your back that vanishes at a given time.
And yes, the size should be fixed, looks weird. It doesn't matter if it's slimmer, you can always extend the blade (like Sephirots sword from FFVII). mhm... maybe have 2 versions to get? One from left to right and right to left over the back? Maybe another two (left and right) sitting at the belt, where they normally would be?
This pretty much tells why we need more quests for items, have it be guns or clothing. The lack of permanance immediately kills any chance it had of being an "OMG I need to have that now!" item, since for about the same grind, you can get a physical item which will not deactivate out of the blue and... honestly, how ridiculous would it look to have a sword on your back for two minutes, only to have it disappear? EDIT: Forgot to give my opinion. lol
This isn't something I'll waste time getting I think, just like the Red Eye.
As it stands, this is still a unique and pwnful device, if used properly. Imagine the Furious Angel video pwnage... with the FAs all wielding swords. The screenshot ops, the video ops, et cetera, makes this a clever and very useful item, and I can't wait to see how some people use it.
This is still pretty wicked, but if it's a standard timer like the other event stuff, it'd suck the big one.
I had an idea regarding the timer:
The normal archives version should be moved so it goes diagonally across the lower back from left to right. Then the special Live Event version can go diagonally from right to left creating crossed blades. Both can be perpetual, only few people will get the twin blades and as already mentioned, anything new will become a fad and everyone will gain it, but given time, only the die hard users will carry on using it.
I know I wouldn't use it much at this point in time anyway as I dont think it will look good with my current costume.

I love the style and imagery associated with ninja's, samurai and their paraphenalia but the Matrix is supposed to be a convincing simulation of a typical 90's city, so a timer is very much a nescessary evil in this case.....
The blue headlamp is an 'item', yet it only sticks around for 2 minutes or so. I imagine that there will be 'perpetual sword' FX for people who win events.I was web surfing all over the internet for a shot like that , yeah I noticed it too. The positioning of the sword is too straight (kind of like how Blade from the movies would wear his). Swords like that are usually carried on the back at a slant to make it easier to grab and unsheathe (like the illustration Void has) .My issue with it is that it simply looks huge. I was thinking it'd be a little more proportionate.Maybe it's just the angle at which the picture is taken.Something like this is what I'm talking about:Archived image unavailable: swordedug5.html- Void

This idea is awesome.
It is made of win and pwn.

^ about sums it up
I'm actually glad this is on a timer like the others. I mean, if this was perpetual, you'd see pretty much everyone with a huge sword on their back all the time. Anyway, I have a feeling a Perpetual War Sword will be the most sought after event reward now barring the FM-1500.
Timer really needs to get fixed on this item.
Been dieing for something of this caliber in MxO be it for show or use.. And Hell still im getting it. if not if we all can. Ill get both sizes if its possible XD.. -_- to bad we couldn't get a pose or something to go along with it. would be much better ^_^ but hell im cracking non stop to get mines.
I agree with that.. it looks pretty cool but Timer is the sucksRarebit wrote:And on a timer, obviously." width="15" height="15" />
