Some simple confirmation as to whether or not this remains perpetual would be nice.
There's either going to be a lot of people who will be pleasantly surprised tomorrow, or even more who are going to be disappointed.
Awesome reward, by the way. SMILEY

Also, now other people have mentioned it, it does look a little large.

We'll just have to see how it turns out tommorow tho =D

The War Sword is available in two mounting sizes, the larger of which is specifically designed to accommodate the frames of larger male operatives.

The difference between the two is how closely they're attached to the skeleton; the size of the attached model is the same. And yes it is frickin' huge.

And on a timer, obviously. :P

EDIT: because I really can't type this morning.

But perpetuals will be available as event rewards right? Right!?

Yeah, too weird to see a physical sword do a runner after two minutes, I think I will carry on working for the Org Clothing while hoping I get the oppertunity to get the perp version.  If all else fails, it will be No. 1 on my xmas list to Rarebit ^_^

Aye, timer and size are dissapointing... but to avoid claims of being a whiner i'll just say its awesome we're even getting stuff like this in the first place.

I stand by holsters too SMILEY

Oh come on, Be Realistic. Did you atcually think that it would be a perp version?!

On a time, eh?

I believe this constitutes the question:  *CENSORED* is wrong wit you?

Epic.

I retract my previous comments.  An over-the-top, gigantic sword which doesn't run long enough to take screenshots?  Meh.
#36300353066 11/14/2007 12:57:04 Re:Image Retrieval - November 14, 2007
You know. I was saying Sieges was going from Seras Victoria to Sir Integra Hellsing, once I got Morraeon out of Sieges's head... but I think I might be able to complete a Matriculated version of the Integra look for her.

It's not some eyesore like the Flame Virus or glowy eyes or something; it's an inanimate object that's attached to your back...that magically disappears for some reason 30 seconds after you use it.
That's really realistic. SMILEY

Actually, I dont think it is big enough, after playing Final Fantasy 7 and seeing Sephiroths blade, this is a pen knife!  SMILEY

I'll stick with the Blood Noble coat, then.  SMILEY

I'll compromise and say that it's nice to see swords available to us in one form or another.  Hopefully this means that more player requests will be honored in the future, in so far as available resources will allow.

lame.

#36300353076 11/14/2007 13:36:48 Re:Image Retrieval - November 14, 2007
Very random, but cool.

Hate the timer SMILEY
((dang smiley bug))

I wish the sword could just randomly be placed in the hand, like the Twin's knives or a gun, even if the animation looked absolutely ridiculous.

I guess I'll get it anyway.

EDIT: dang though it's like a 6 ft long sword *CENSORED*?

#36300353092 11/14/2007 14:15:21 Re:Image Retrieval - November 14, 2007

It would be 1000 times more amazing if it were perpetual... Especially since a temporary war swords doesn't make much sense (c'mon, a sword that disappears after 2 minutes? meh)

Anyhow, this'll really occupy my time, since now I'll have to farm three of them, and devise a macro to make them kick on after one another to create the illusion of perpetuity.

#36300353097 11/14/2007 14:26:11 Re:Image Retrieval - November 14, 2007
A large percentage of people running around with perpetual swords slung on their backs would look more ridiculous IMO, especially when they can't use them. A perpetual version for a couple of people as event rewards  (like most other FX rewards) would be more realistic. A two minute timer as per all the others is long enough for screenshots and to show it off.

If anyone comes up to me and turns the FX on just for intimidation purposes would just get a /giggle from me especially when I say that it's a nice sword and can I see the blade. I wanna know what stories people make up for not unsheathing it!

The few who may get them as perp rewards (if they will be perp rewards) can include them into their RP and background to good effect if they want to, but at least not everyone in the simulation will be sword wielding ninjas...
#36300353109 11/14/2007 14:43:17 Re:Image Retrieval - November 14, 2007
That is pretty cool minus the timer thing. Not like I'll ever make it to another event, so I'll stick with the Agent Suit. Very nice on actually being able to model it though Rare.

I would imagine seperating it from the rack and attaching it to a player's back is a hard task.

At one of the 2nd anniversary parties earlier in the year, someone was turned literally into a sheathed single sword, mabey it was that model.

Looks good. Though I'd prefer to have it diagonaly accross my back.

timers ftl though.
#36300353131 11/14/2007 15:12:12 Re:Image Retrieval - November 14, 2007
Hm.. personally I'm not too thrilled about that but I guess I'll have to see it for myself.. in my opinion (so far) it only looks like a weird floating something next to your RSI... however, I appreciate them (Rare) bringing something like that in the game as a lot of people asked for it.

Laaame (can you tell I've never had the desire to farm out multiples of the same effect before?)

Hope there's lots of perms given out.

Nice! Very creative to make the sword an affect.

Step one is complete.

Step two, making them usable in combat via pills, is next...

Just as hard as making the headlamp, I guess.

Cool sword but I'm not going to run the missions for the one with a timer. I hope I get the chance to obtain the perpetual.

Wow that sword looks good, but it looks way to big. Guess we will have to see!

So now got to take whole month to get all the archives for it! So that is all the archives for all the orgs?!? Can I get some inv space please for all that carry on?

*ninja vanish*

So uh when is the Red Eye going to be fixed?!? Uh it doesn't work...... at all! Please fix that first. Thank you SMILEY

Do you have your graphics turned up? It doesn't show except in high-detail, and even then usually only when your head is moving.
#36300353261 11/14/2007 19:37:50 Re:Image Retrieval - November 14, 2007
Lame, maybe Im just hard to please. But I can think of better items then a sword to show up on your back for 60 secs or so.
#36300353263 11/14/2007 19:41:51 Re:Image Retrieval - November 14, 2007

#36300353266 11/14/2007 19:44:48 Re:Image Retrieval - November 14, 2007
Every time a new FX comes out I want it more than I ever wanted the previous one (excepting of course the Red Eye) and this is no exception.  Perpetual would be best though, I have to agree.

Vinia wrote:

There's a rule with swords like this; if you take it out you have to kill someone with it.
#36300353274 11/14/2007 19:59:29 Re:Image Retrieval - November 14, 2007
The blue headlamp is an 'item', yet it only sticks around for 2 minutes or so. I imagine that there will be 'perpetual sword' FX for people who win events.
My issue with it is that it simply looks huge. I was thinking it'd be a little more proportionate.
Maybe it's just the angle at which the picture is taken.
Something like this is what I'm talking about:
