I really can't see it being perpetual.... except as a special award for an event. TBH I don't kow what would be more annoying... having a sword vanish on you or not being able to use it in combat..

I've yet to see it un action (obviously) but I can see it having the same problem as Blade's sword (in his jacket) although it looks cool, they are fairly inflexible o flexible to a point so if they do bend with the body (when rolling in IL) they'd lose some of their credibility...

As Proc says this could lead the way to stuff like gun holsters (I'm thinking two at the back of the belt a la Lara Croft) but he should have some pink sparkly ones! SMILEY

I looked at it and thought "Well thats a little unexpected", but my awe dropped quickly. You all know its going to have a 2 min timer on it, why would it be any different to any of the other FX's. So although having a sword on your back is cool... it only lasts for 2 mins and eveyone else will have it, thus making it not-so-cool.

However a Perp version would be the only way to go. And with me living in the time zone that I do, I'm never gonna get one.

And erm... Sorry if I just slammed everyone's amazment...

Sorry... but I can't see the majority of players running around with perpetual swords on their backs.... I think that the best you can hope for, apart from a perpetual version won at an event, would be an increased timer say to 5 mins. Still, the longer the effect the more people likely to be running around with it at any one time...

Oh, Rare. If you can do stuff like this sword. Could you make Gun Holsters? You know like go around the leg for a Handgun kinda thing?
I think a few NPCs have them if i remember..

I think Rarebit has said that permanent gun holsters would require remodelling of the body types to add them in. If he made them the same way he did the sword then I'm guessing that they'd be on a timer. Even if it were a perpetual item wouldn't it take up more memory in some way (not loadout memory, but actual computer memory)?

I'd love gun holsters but not if they were only there temporarily. What would be ideal is an extra slot for a single cosmetic item...

It doesn't say that Update 56 is here, it just says that there will be new stuff there and looking on the forum will show you that you can start working towards the org clothing rewards now.

EDIT: Sword = Awesomeness (Will we see a Cloud Strife Buster Sword soon? SMILEY SMILEY But only having the basic rather than the Perp version will be weird for a 'physical' item, where as say Code Eyes look natural as they turn off, a Sword just leaving is a bit weird SMILEY
