Those completing the archived chapter 5-8 Zion missions, available when the live story reaches chapter 9.1 (scheduled for update 56), will receive a pair of sleek Zion Rave Pants--just the thing for that hot night out, when you need to look your best (and gain the benefit of level-scaling defensive buffs*).
Click the above for the full image. Also available in PNG and BMP formats.
* All the event/archive items with level-scaling defensive buffs will have the strength of those buffs doubled once update 56 is released.

Wait, I don't get it. They kinda look like just pants, although I detect a possible pattern on the male's knees. I guess it's cool, I don't know. Black pants have already been done. I'm just not seeing it.... Oh, well, anything with level-scaled buffs is decent. I think I'll get them.

female pants look like the arkashi zipper pants just with the black ball texture.
And yeah the male pants are the EPN Fighter NPCs which are new cuse the only version we have now is the ugly black/gray pants.

check again. Only version avaliable of these pants are the ones with black chaps over gray pants. These are solid black with no gray what so ever.

The only thing that disappoints me is that these are basically re-coloring of old items. It's not like the Chapter 4 clothing rewards or the Area K, but we'll see. I'm glad now I didn't farm Zion, I wasn't surprised they got something semi-lame.

I remember someone commenting on how there are very few unique Pants items and since these will have all-round protection I can see why this has come about. I'd have to call it a success because some people love them already and others, well, won't have to do a darn thing if they don't want to. Good job Rarebit.

I like the way they look. I'm already farming the archives for zion in preparation for the new archive clothing, so I'll get it. Red Eye Beret was my first one back in 5.1, might as well get Zion's new one first too.

I'm not saying it's a terrible reward, but it's nothing special either. Then again, an all-black remodeled version of Hosh-Chaps for males is pretty cool, but for the amount of mission grinding required to achieve these items, the clothing should be a little more different then current clothing.
All 3 Ch.1-4 clothing items were great and totally different in style from everything else. Hopefully the Machine and Merv rewards are a little better.

Very nice. Not mindblowing, but very nice. Even though I'm a machinist, I'd take these over an Agent suit anyday. Might just start at the Zion arcs in preparation.

Hmmm.... I'd have to say that the Male pants look nice, with the added bump-mapping and the complete black (I can see a lot of people will be running around with them) The Female version look a little plain to me, I would have preferred (If I'd been Zion) to have a pattern (perhaps even a bit of bump-mapping) along similar lines to the area-K trench. Still I can't complain, a lot of people are pleased and that's what it is all about. Can't wait to see the Mech and Merv Items.

Why is everyone saying they'll farm for them? I've always considered farming to be the random mowing down of NPCs to obtain randomly dropped items (RSI pills, frags etc). You'll mission for these trousers.
