but i don't have it on my upstairs computer... strange. I tried adjusting the gamma of the entire monitor (not in game) and it seamed to improve this increadibly. i suggest you follow your graphics card instructions/program/manual and try and improve the overall gamma.you don't get a light pool anymore like you used to, which is why it's much darker.what do you mean you don't... i have mine turned off using useropts.cfg did thhey turn it off for everyone. Can you get a confirmation on this?
With the red weather the images are much darker. However your overall windows gamma is too low if you can't see the images on the boards. Gama in-game is controlled by the slider in the GFX settings, unless your video cardis set to override appliation settings.
What model is your GFX card?
Halloween?

...Yup...
Uhh, Halloween dude.
Should be fixed thursday.

Some of these people reported the problem in May. So the other suggestions here are useful.
And also...if you go into the advanced options for the game and try using the different overlay filters (or turning them all off), that might help too. There are three of them, and you'll recognize them by names like "Over-bright", "green", etc.
Today (November 6th), we have the Halloween darkness taken away. So anyone who still experiences this problem may want to read this and the other solutions above.
Aye. Please let us know if you're still getting the same darkness now that the halloween event has been removed from the game.
