Everyone,

With the knowledge of the Machine responsibility for Cryptos' actions comes the realization that they will stop at nothing to destroy our work. The battlefield has changed. We will have to develop new tactics. Even our standard recruitment and Awakening procedures must be reexamined in the light of the danger that we now know confronts us.

We must be alert. With their Cryptos ploy ruined by Seraph, the Machines will surely try another approach to stop us. As we achieve greater success, we must be ready for greater perils, so that together we may overcome them.

You need to watch yourself Shimada.

Also, seems like you...skipped something near the end there.

Shimada, you fail to see that Cryptos was a threat to everyone.

A truce-ender, if you will. His radical tendancies and charisma could've done more damage than you could dream of.

You should thank us.

(And Veil was the psycho one anyway, don't expect the boys and girls in the Masks to be any nicer.)

Glad to see two new blues make there choice. It is a shame what happened to Marcus after he made his however but as a famous author once wrote "Death is but the next Great Adventure". May he travel it in peace.

I have a suggestion Shimada. Order a mandatory meeting for all EPN operatives and hire Seraph to show up and clean house.

(( I think the fact that the death of Marcus isn't included is to show it wasn't counted as part of the event.. correct me if I'm wrong, Rarebit. Although there was some pretty fun and intense RP after that, it was pretty much an all EPN discussion, so it would all be dimissed by most IC (at least, characters who are anti-EPN.. which I'm guessing is the majority SMILEY) comments anyways, and we don't need more of the IC/OOC blurring problems we apparently had already on Recursion's World Discussion. ))

I am glad we were able to free minds, and that I fufilled my duty. I still wish I had been able to do more, but spending time regretting the past will distract us from the present. We simply can't stop moving forward, so we must follow our beliefs onward.  Keep what we've learned in mind and continue the fight.

Shimada, Zeissman, Reposco, it was an honour and privilage to work with you and to bear on of our pills.

It's good to know we freed two more minds.  Tell Kathy and Mitchell I'll see them soon.

((Great event, don't think I've been in for many screens.))

((That was a fun time. I really enjoyed it! What have I been missing out on for the past 2 years?! Thanks to Zeissman and Reposco for setting things up so nicely. And to Shimada/Rarebit for the open RP/LE.))

Choice is a *CENSORED* of a thing... There is so much danger in The Matrix we may not be aware of anymore. We have trained our minds so well to this point, studied The Matrix, the gangs, the City. Proficiency in one area too often reveals ignorance in another area. Richland, though not very dangerous for us, is still very dangerous for those bluepills. Oblivious, as Smith so aptly applied. Those businesspeople in neat suits Downtown are oblivious to the danger that is right next to them.

Morpheus knew that danger. He didn't know what Neo would choose. He believed so strongly that you can say he knew. But only the Oracle really knew.

Just because there is danger does not mean we can stop our work. There will always be risk, but the potential for greatness and success are too precious to concede to risk.

Glad to see our operatives in E Pluribus Neo did at least some good work. While we were unable to awaken all three bluepills, the two that we did awaken, well, I hope they make the right choice and join us as well.

So long as your standard recruitment and Awakening procedures only are given to the 1% who are READY, and you give them a CHOICE, there isnt an issue here, though you should leave it to Zion and admit your past misgivings instead, move forward, stop living in the past.

The event posts do not show everything that happened.  Rarebit appears to have a 42 image limit.

A good example is this event post, which makes it seem like the Machinists just sprung into action at a random moment with no orders from the higher ups.  Yet my transcript of the event contains the dialogue from the meeting  with Agent Gray and Vogt at the beginning of this event.  Does the fact that this meeting isn't in the event post mean that it didn't happen?
#36300216938 04/18/2007 06:34:45 Re:[7.1.5] We fight to free others, trapped like you - Recursion - 4/13/07

Excellent, well done Shimada, although I am not entirely fond of E Pluribus Neo, you at least gave those Bluepills the choice, good work SMILEY.

Now as for Marcus i think he just went and toke the Bluepill but i think he vanished because The guys who had taken the Redpill were the attraction and not Marcus, hence i don't think he's dead Nightrace, nonetheless Your concern for Marcus is appreciated.

Good job fellow EPN's. Like Shimada says, two out of three isn't bad. The unfortunate circumstances that occured with Marcus are exactly what we are trained to deal with, and are sometimes unavoidable, as with this. We have two new FREE humans, no longer slaves to the machines. A good night I'd say.

Xenin -- Marcus did die.  He was killed by members of the local gang.  It's no coincidence that Shimeda's operation report didn't include that part.

It's a shame that once a bluepill chooses to remain a bluepill, any concern from EPN for their safety goes out the window.  But they are still human beings, worth just as much as any redpill.

Marcus had been approached by Cypherites which your Org created. After he didn't choose the Redpill, he was offered an escort home...but he instead chose to run out and by a gang that shot and killed him.

Considering that he was led to the meeting at gunpoint, the fact that he chose to flee isn't surprising. Now the poor guy's dead, all from your failure to accept "no" for an answer.

Actually, the Machines only created a leader and a name.  The Masked existed long before the Machines took control.  As a matter of fact, the Machines incidentally created EPN as well.

Did you miss the Quote from Gray saying they Made Cryptos so he could form the Cypherites?

Agent Gray: Operative, the Zionite known as Cryptos was overwritten by a Machine program years ago. This program's purpose was to form a group of humans dedicated to the task of preventing Zion from destabilizing the System by awakening more than the allotted 1% of the Matrix' population. At the beginning of the truce period, it was a difficult task for us to control these excess awakenings without causing an overreaction in Zion.
The group came to be known as the Cypherites. Under the overwritten Cryptos' leadership, they have been effective in reducing excess awakenings. However, Seraph's attack has disabled Cryptos, and revealed his Machine overwriting. This has led to a certain amount of...political fallout with Zion, and even among Cypherites. Agent Pace will describe your next task
.

No, that was Micthell Harper. Dezreki was repremanded and stripped of his Rank for his actions too. He resigned from EPN.  Marcus died because he refused an escort home and walked head first into a gang.

He was offered an escort. And the gang was killed immidiatly after he was shot. He was also attempted to be resustated by an EPN member. So not caring is an exageration.

And one of the chapter 3 Zion missions states that Cryptos' sudden change occurred shortly after the truce was formed, not after the Masked appeared.  Cryptos is definitely the founder of the movement.  I doubt some random person could enter the group and become the leader.  If Cryptos wasn't the leader from the beginning, then surely Veil would have filled that role?

Alright, listen people, when I got to Uriah when Eki called me and told me she found Mitchel, I go there as quick as I can and what's the first thing I do to this bluepill?

Check his details.

Now...in these details...it said he had been seeing weird things around the docks lately -- as any investigator would, I wanted to figure out what these "weird things" were. So, in order to obtain the information I wanted, and assumed were needed and pertinent to the live event, I told him I was a government agent. I had to convince him to come with me and my operatives to a location to figure out what he had seen. Now, up to this point, I'm still assuming this live event took a slight change of path from the regular awakening because it said he had been seeing weird things around the wharf. So, now, I drew my gun, to state my posistion as a Field Agent in the government -- as such, Field Agents are armed. Once he came to the assumption that I was a redpill, I confirmed that for him by hyper-jumping -- I *had* to get him back to the REP by any means necessary at this point for A. His awakening and B. His information.

So. Anyone still have a problem with my tactics?

And they're much more valuable to you as bluepills, right Illyria? After all, you're really regretting the loss of a resource, aren't you? I find it sadly funny that this "great concern" you Machinists proclaim to have for human life does not extend to us Redpills.

Oh, by the way, you mean for us to believe you've never lost a single bluepill while on a mission for your Machine masters?

A job well done, I would think, on the part of the EPN members that took part in this scenario. Waking one at a time is difficult, and two is almost impossible. Trying to Awaken three people at the same time is unheard of.

Regarding the tactics of Captains Dezreki and Archangel, it would serve us well to remember that we are not Zion or Machinists. We do not have the luxury of standing around for hours on end, debating the philosophy of the Truth. With the constant threat of an entire system against us, we have to move . . . faster.

And risk losing them from the get-go by coming off as too pushy? If I ever get an order like that, I'll be packing up and moving out.

I know what I'm capable of. And I've had Machinists hand bluepills off to me to finish the job before. They know I do it properly and don't force decisions.

I had a failure. Nobody wins 100 percent of the time. What works with one bluepill doesn't work with another. You learn to adapt, use what resources are at your disposal. And quite frankly, I didn't have much to work with when dealing with a stubborn bluepill who was obsessed with his meeting "masked men."

Agreed. I was trying to tell the others that it is not easy for us to recruit. Sometimes we have to improvise.

((lol, I was backing you up man. Chill!))
