Sorry to highjack your thread...
I am new at the game and for some reason i do not see the button for starting new thread BUT i can REPLY if i do into someone thread... Can someone sort of explain this concept for me? I do have account and as a matter of fact it's active and i am logging in the forum and created one. I am using it as we speak. THANKS

I doubt if it has anything to do with file check...
Maybe you took too long during the creation process and the game disconnected itself from creation server or something.
Happened to me once... i took quite long. You know deciding this and that for your toon.
I restarted it and did it faster because i knew what i wanted and it went through... SO i figured that much i guess
This is sort of remind me of this game when i first started long ago when it first out. WB was still in charged. How annoying and dictated WB was. They made it hard for you to cancel account. You have to go through load of hassle by calling in instead of having a system like SOE so you can do it right on the site.
Well with this annoying not being able to post when i have question remind me so much of how WB was...
You should be able to just copy the whole Monolith or sony folder whichever you have to you're new pc. You can create a shortcut to launcher.exe to put on you're desktop. As long as you still know your user name and password you should be fine.
can you start one of these TOPIC there too? So i can post there looking for team? because the one in game does not work or no one is knowing how to use it. Everytime i use it, no one there seeking at all. Thanks

bah, problems galore!If you do a switch the full system check on after you click accept on the launcher then enter your user name/ password it should go through all your files and get any that are needed, at least I think that's how that works
burnt the second set of files to dvd, but when i tried to copy them over i got endless errors - looks like the dvds i bought were all defective so only some files copied over.
because i had no other disks and no way to transfer, i ended up having to wipe my zen micro, stick the files on there and transfer over that way.
good news - game works on the laptop. hooray!
bad news - some of the textures haven't copied over for some reason - probably missed one or two out due to the disk errors - so certain textures - mostly trees, some rooftop elements and a few things such as elevator panels and nightclub scenery are purple with the word "MISSING" on them.
any ideas? I have no way of knowing what ones might be missing save for trawling through all six zillion files in the packmaps folders......(shudder).
failing that, i guess i'll just have to buy some more dvds :S
