Average loot I think.

Did Rarebit get to squeeze in more of his vendor/questy stuff?
#36300064234 10/04/2006 15:34:24 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
Join TDC, and get all the sims... any time you want.

And yes, this Friday patching... very bold move... I think someone is going to be working Saturday... or at least on call.
#36300064236 10/04/2006 15:34:46 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
Hah. The Merovingian must really hate Zion... None of those sims are from the Machines. I'm mad that you guys get to fight Morpheus. We'll see...

Good stuff with the Org/Crew-hopping as well. Though, can we at least see some sort of... Increase... Of reputation gain? Or some new ways to gain reputation?
#36300064238 10/04/2006 15:36:43 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006

Zomg.
-5 Rep with both orgs.
If that's the case then joining factions will suck alot!

I mean...  Factions take applications per individual usually.  Not crews.
Oh and the rep thingy. I think the chances of getting a rep point should be upped just a little bit.

Other than that it's pure awesomesauce.

#36300064240 10/04/2006 15:37:38 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006

Though I can see the org hopping fix for pvp combat this really puts a hamper on RP. There are several instances I can sight in RP on recursion in which a player had to go into another org for the sake of RP but now this wont be doable.

I request that an alteration be made that the Rep changes -IF- the person in question flags up.

I really feel that this change closes an avenue of RP such as kidnapping, brain washing, anything that you can think of to justify entering another org for RP purposes, etc when it is clearly meant for PVP cases.

Just turn org names off, then it won't hurt your rp SMILEY  Also, the Merovingian wouldn't care if you were brainwashed, if you joined another org he would be angry, period.

I highly agree.
On the other hand, it's also good to see org hopping in PVP cases will be less attractive, I've never witnessed this myself but I can see the problem.

As for the NPC spawns in the constructs, that's all good although I wish there were multiple levels to choose from, oh well. I'll have to persuade someone to get me into a Merv construct and Machine to fight that twin and Morpheus, heh.
#36300064292 10/04/2006 16:36:09 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
Swweeeeeett....

Now I gotta find a way to sneak into tthe other org's constructs...hhmmmm...

Anyways, great job on the patch!  Looks like a lot of stuff was fixed and a lotta cool new things implemented.

#36300064302 10/04/2006 16:43:28 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006

Great update, thanks

lots of good fixes in there, in particular the crew stuff.

#36300064314 10/04/2006 16:54:26 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006

--Now when a player joins a Crew, that player's Reputation with both opposing Organizations will drop to -5. If the player's Reputation is already -5 or below with an Organization, there will be no change to that score. Since a player must have a Reputation of at least 0 with an Organization in order to join a Crew, we felt this was just enough to make Org-hopping unattractive.--

So if you're like me, at least -50 with each org, this has no effect? Or is the other way around, and ima be completly *CENSORED* over?

#36300064324 10/04/2006 17:01:42 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
Dammit, now I have to grind rep and be factionless for the next couple days.
#36300064372 10/04/2006 17:33:25 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006

from the way i read it, if your currently in a crew and you have negitive rep points for that Org you will still be in that crew unless you get kicked out or leave said crew then you will need to get your rep to 0 to rejoin it.

My question is the AB pills, there not stackable but the Neg sweeps of the pills are? *CENSORED*??

#36300064376 10/04/2006 17:36:56 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
Pretty good patch notes. Lots of typo fixes I see.

I hope to see some AI fixes soon *cough*removing that extra round of combat that happens after your special ability kills an enemy*cough*.

Ugh.  I've seen it in constructs, people using it to farm the boss without outside interference. :/

Because they figured I was still pwning even with broken concealment animations.

Question! - What about people who are already in a crew that have negative rep with that org and positive in another org?

Now that org hoppers are pretty much taken char of, what can be done about people who make alts in an opposing org with the purpose of screwing them over?

Invoke some more requirements to join your faction, perhaps. Say, a screenshot proving that you have so-and-so reputation with the organization the faction is under.

If you still get griefers, then they're definitely trying way too hard and you can laugh at them for having no life.

Or do you mean ruin the reputation of the organization in general?

So what happened to the Halloween event, was it not planned for this patch or is it coming later?

I know Im not the only one hyped for it.
#36300064431 10/04/2006 18:48:58 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
Yes I was wandering as well about the Halloween event, when will it come out then?
#36300064449 10/04/2006 19:29:59 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
they should have had it for the entire month of october but seeing the rebundling taking place the patch would take days to finish..
#36300064531 10/04/2006 23:24:39 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
Update for the Halloween event comes later.

Pretty sure I replaced the Niobe RSI with a different one of the Merv combat sim. We had that conversation in a previous thread but that was so, like, a week or so ago.

No new quest this time, it was a short 5-week period anyway, that ended up being another week or so shorter due to rebundling issues...blech. Closest thing I got to do to a quest was improving the buffs on the weaker archive items.
#36300064540 10/04/2006 23:44:55 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
Are there any other interesting undocumented changes you can tell us about? Did the weapon skin improvements you were talking about make it into this patch?
#36300064544 10/04/2006 23:57:10 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
No, I just started on that today, and the specular map is giving me some strange problems. Hm, maybe this is why they didn't have them before. =p

Im refering to a situation where say a zionist is captured and brainwashed by say cypherites. RP wise that Zionist would leave their current faction and join the cypherites (machine faction).

What this change unintentally is doing is closing avenues in RP that would require someone to switch orgs by entering a faction for whatever reason. I honestly dont believe that the devs realized that when they decided to make this fix. All I am asking is that there be another step to the rep reset thing, as like I said actually flagging up in pvp would cause the reset, not the actual switching of orgs.

Id really like to hear from a dev if they would be willing to address this concern.

#36300064549 10/05/2006 00:07:09 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
Simple solution -- allow players to flag hostile to all orgs.
#36300064553 10/05/2006 00:30:24 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
Nice to see antibiotic stacking is being fixed....what about that other antibiotic exploit...
#36300064566 10/05/2006 01:31:05 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
IIRC I suggested you replace Niobe with Seraph. If the change was made, Mervs. can thank me later. =D

#36300064696 10/05/2006 06:28:06 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
I think that the crew thing is bs i mean i'm not a org hopper myself but i have zion rep but i'm in a merv crew, and i have a zion key which i wont be able to use because my zion rep goes down to -5 is that correct?
#36300064749 10/05/2006 08:04:45 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
the rep grind is really not that hard i went from max zion almost to postive machine in about a week with doing infiltration missions on easy and just doing ur basic objectives n not trying to kill as many npcs
#36300064860 10/05/2006 11:24:26 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
Ha, us Machinists get the best sims. SMILEY

I'm kinda nervous about such a large patch being done on a Friday, especially with something like rebundling two primary districts. You know there will most likely be some hotfixes with that, hopefully nothing too game breaking.

Org-hopping fix is a very welcome change.
#36300064897 10/05/2006 12:09:24 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006

As awesome as it looks i couldnt help but expect more from this patch.

I dunno, there still seems to be some exploits in need of fixing. Theres still a need for new 'quest' content. And theres a definate need for some polishes in AI, Animations (ESPECIALLY ANIMATIONS!), Bullet Time etc etc.

Also, what the hell ever happened to the FX tone down?

Boo for an overworked understaffed MxO team. (thats in a good way btw)

Hopefully more hotfixes this time round though... yay for weekly game fixing!

Only if you leave the crew and join it again.
The rep changing only happens at the moment you join the crew, I think.
That means people who have say... zion rep and are in a merv crew won't be affected unless they leave the crew and join it again.

Am I the only one not excited/paranoid over the Unlimits spreading to the other districts? This should make Mara C even more of a warzone than it was before. SMILEY

Sounds great. The fix to org-hopping is a welcome change!!

And we RP'ers can use our imaginations for storylines like you've mentioned. After all, that's what we're good at.

I'm stoked about kickin' Morpheus' butt.

#36300065192 10/05/2006 20:57:53 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006
perfect Im out of school tomorrow so I'll have plenty of time to git the green codes then go fight a twin and bribe someoen to take me to kill the Assassin...woot cant wait go devs!

#36300065829 10/06/2006 12:31:45 Re:The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Wednesday, October 4, 2006

This is good news.  So people will no longer be able to drop their tag at the site of a TC member anymore.  I am going to enjoy slapping "Kid" around.

Walrus, Rarebit I am telling you we have had our most fun when you changed the loot in 01.  People were coming back to the game for that.  All you have to do is just change the drop like every 2 or 3 months and have it on rotation.  Keep the machine parts and TM drops the same.  Just change what the item we receive is.  Rotate from a jacket, to shoes, to gloves, to pants, to hats, to shirts, etc....

A simple change like this will keep people active and busy for a long time.
