Hello!  Ive seen many topics about this and it's finally my turn to ask the question!  How do I get around my college firewall?  I'm not even trying to do anything bad, the most important ports I want to have opened are port 21 for my email and port 6667 for IRC.  Those are the two I've noticed so far, most importantly is my email though since I cant download any of my new mail using Thunderbird.

Is there anything I can do?  Can you guys give me any suggestions/tips/instructions on what to do?

Thanks a lot!

Just to update, I was mistaken about it being port 21 that was a problem, I use port 110(thunderbird default) when connecting to my mail server.

Hi QforQ-MxO,

If you are being blocked through a network firewall, then you will need to speak with a network administrator to get it resolved.  There is not really anything you can do from the user end.
