Why? What makes him so special? and why have so little bested him un combat? These are the questions that i have pondered since our last fight. Ive tried to match him in ability, He is a grandmaster in kung fu, so am i. He has very well placed stats, so have i. But why? Why cannot i best him? Is it his clothes? are they buffed beyond imagination? Why the **** cant i beat him?! Is there anyone out there that can answer my question? Does anyone have a list of his stats so that i might have a chance in our next encounter?

Was he a higher level than you because quite alot of the main characters are above level 50 (like Niobe being lvl 65) and the reason they're a higher level than the maximum player level is to show their experience as they have all been active longer than any player. Also they all represent something important (seraph is the protector of the oracle) so they should be tough.

Well, Seraph is Dev. Controled so you would have to expect some dev magic regardless of what level he is

all he has to do is activate his dev invulnerability powers and ur as good as dead. so unless he wants you to win you wont.

#36300036723 08/30/2006 15:30:01 Re:Hmph... the all mighty Seraph huh?

well they won't activate their invincibility power unless they have to, they usually have Dev enhanced clothing with like 10% acc and stuff on each peice.

on some they have 5%.

Seraph was able to hold is own against Neo for at least a little while. Are you saying 0Valiant that you should be able to beat an Exile that had that much combat prowess?

we can't say how powerful neo was, he may have had bad case of gas

The philosophical answer: Seraph and the One remain as powerful as their purpose demands they must be.

Seraph should have his own style like in the movies. I saw 2 ppl beat him tho at uriah few months ago. A duelist and a hacker.

There is a rumor that Seraph can only be beaten by Data Miner... but well... you know... Data Miner ownz all so it might be a sploit.

Seriously... the NPC is way higher than you, if you solo him you would use alot of pills... then there is the dev/LET version... and I doubt they would ever let someone beat him.

That, and Rarebit (the Developer who plays characters like Seraph, the Oracle, Neo, et cetera) cheats.

YEAH I SAID, IT WHO WANTS SOME?!
#36300095483 11/14/2006 12:08:50 Re:Hmph... the all mighty Seraph huh?
In all honesty, no one should even come close to beating Seraph. I'm surprised Rarebit has let this happen.

Considering the fact that:

Seraph easily went toe to toe with Neo in the teahouse.
Neo defeated Agents with ease.
We die by regular Agents in seconds.

So in reality we should never even lay a finger on Seraph, but I guess Seraph has gotten soft since the truce. SMILEY

you do have to remember Seraph is a program who can manipulate the matrix easier than a normal redpill can. Plus remember how he had a strange glow when Neo first looked at him? Who know's there might be something we don't know about him that can explain his uber kung fu powers SMILEY

yeh *cough* dev powers *cough*

Well there is a theory that Seraph is an old version of 'the one' which the machines recreated as a program to work on their side but he became an exile to protect the Oracle as he managed to remember his past.  Obviously being a program would drop his powers so he wouldn't be as powerful as Neo.  There has to be a reason the Merovingian called him a traitor.

This also could be Neo's fate...

I'd love to know where you heard that.

yeah rarebit said that when he runs an admin charachter for the story it the combination of the level and stast (whcih are admin hacked to 60 points each) that give the main characters their ubernes.

but this begs the question do they acctually make use of buffs in the conventional sence seeing as there is no clothing to take advantage of the modifiers.

The modifiers affect abilities..  as do clothing.
So with stats admin-hacked to 60 combined with the innate damage and resistance you get with levels it makes them... overpowered.
Actually, I bet Gray and Pace use enhanced fm-1500 that's about it.

Plus you've got to remember, Smith seemingly being the strongest off the agents prior to Reloaded, Seraph says 'i've beat you before' so hes got to be incredibly powerful.

I've fought Seraph before, and I actually held my won for quite a long while, and managed to do more damage to him then anyone else who fought him had. Suplex/Dummy Drill/Din Mak combo ftw SMILEY

Guys, he's level 65 normally... Probably more if he really tried.
The only way someone's going to hold their own (or last 10 seconds) is if he LETS them by lowering his own power level.

Seraph is pretty much a personification of the Challenge-Handshake-Authentication-Protocol, or CHAP, which is an authentication scheme used to verify/validate identity. Basically it sends a 'challenge' out to it's target, and then checks the given response against it's own calculations of what the target's response should be. If the response matches, then the target's identity is validated.
