How about letting enemies also use the /duel command on vector? Many of us like to have duels at times and it would be nice do do so without death effect at the end ......

Whats the point?, Honestly theres like 100s of hardly or near to not used hardlines why not just go there and duel? Much easier... less hasel i mean if i run along and kick 10 living daylights out of you by Howitzering you both you'd both be dead just the same, am i right? so just like anyone who wants to duel on vector-hostile... go to a quiet place and take the risk, the D.E part does sound good tho.. but it just wouldnt work with our uses of pvp mess it all up, You could use that to an advanage in pvp as well so.. might be good but needs more work and detail to it, alright idea tho.

How about making the /duel option available to all but only in Dojo's (as HJ breaks a duel anyway no additional restriction). This kinda promotes the environment as opposed to just letting anything happen anywhere?
#36300010354 07/29/2006 12:53:07 Re:Some of us pvpers still like to duel also
yeah...could definetly use a /duel feature for vector...not only will it help everyday fighting but in tourneys it slows it down ridiculously...with this feature tourneys would speed up by HOURS.

Agreed, but of course we don't want to die in PvP cause someone macro'd /duel to distract us....

I believe that is why hostile emotes are illegal?

I like tytanyas idea of dojo-only hostile duels.

#36300011406 07/30/2006 19:58:39 Re:Some of us pvpers still like to duel also
I don't see how the /duel command could be macroed to cheat..even if you have someone to accept the duel..you would not unflag...you'd only stop being flagged for that player, not the rest of the pvpers....if it's just distraction you're worried about it's easy enough to jack in low lvl alts to spam whatever...emotes etc..
#36300011744 07/31/2006 08:57:56 Re:Some of us pvpers still like to duel also

I think that in the middle of a PvP battle having the duel option flash on your screen so you have to accept/or decline would be a pain in the *CENSORED*.

and most folks can't be bothered to jack in an alt just to annoy someone with emotes!

#36300011803 07/31/2006 09:34:39 Re:Some of us pvpers still like to duel also
honestly man if u get distracted for 1 second by a tiny *CENSORED* screen that doesnt say much about yourself
#36300012030 07/31/2006 14:10:41 Re:Some of us pvpers still like to duel also

Well, whilst clicking no I cannot use my mouse for what I intended.....

Now imagine 7 members of zion all do it to you during 20 seconds and it really gets aggravating.....

HOWEVER, my statement was that is WHY they don't have it. Same reason they took out hostile emotes.... though we can all /auto-ignore etc etc.

#36300012616 07/31/2006 23:42:03 Re:Some of us pvpers still like to duel also
I doubt it would be exploited..they could also make it a new /duelhostile command with a 120 sec reuse so it couldn't be nonstop spammed..
#36300012975 08/01/2006 07:50:17 Re:Some of us pvpers still like to duel also

Personally I like the idea of being able to duel enemies. I mean I have alot of friends on the other side of things and getting DE just sux. Maybe duel enemies only in the dojos or something. Would be kinda nice.

#36300018762 08/07/2006 13:50:40 Re:Some of us pvpers still like to duel also

This could be a good idea on a hostile server. Maybe someone wants to challenge the leader of a particular faction without him being able to call the pwn squad. It could add a cinematic feel. SMILEY I'm on a non hostile server though, and from personal experience I know that people can exploit flag another player that they're Dueling with. <_<  >_> 3 seconds later- knife owned.

This is True, Nephallim. I've seen it first hand. [takuya ftl] but yeah, I hate not having the /duel command on vector. It'd make tourneys A LOT easier. and the fact that you don't have to be like, "You ready? Yeah, I'm ready. 1-2-3-go!" or "I'm ready, just attack when you're ready." It kind of gives a disadvantage to those who have to type crap, or those who attack first. I think adding in a /duel command on vector would be a lovely idea! SMILEY

Dueling is overrated.....

people who duel use exploits and macros in combat then cry when their opponant uses consumables.... which are part of the game....BTW

Do yourself a favor...do not ask me to duel....

PS... the only time I will not use consumables is in a tournament that lays out rules against them in the beginning...

Duel overrated? Meh. Of course, people like *CENSORED FOR PARADOX/SERENITY* exploited all the time in duels and then neglected having done anything, sure while having 3k HP without buffs and HP clothes. But those who exploit just admit that they s u c k.
Although most of the community on Rec/Synt knows that consumables are a no-no in duels, Moebius is considered legal.

Either way, the Vectorians are good in PvP (oh.. so clear) but in 1 on 1 situations there are some things they can learn from duels. Tourneys on Vector must be one hell, so Tytanya's idea is great.

Also I'd like to have /teamduel. So there you can do controlled multi fightings (while in same org for instance).

Why not allow the use of the /duel command in a pacification zone, then set the a few of the dojos as pacification zones
#36300230815 05/05/2007 13:22:36 Re:Some of us pvpers still like to duel also
Not sure who this Revxzfxdfzcxz guy is, but he's bumping a thread that was made well before Pacification Zones were introduced to Vector. If people want to duel badly enough on Vector, there are pacification zones to do it at.

I'm gettin my say on this topic before it gets locked for Necro.

PvP is overrated, personally if you can use teamwork to kill an opponent fine, but I've only seen one or two examples of that in the whole game, what we have atm is "chase the guy till he's out of emote distance or too far from my friends" and "he's in IL, shoot him" In the end I'm not a Mara C fan, I'll go there on the odd occasion if I want to do a little sniping but I'd prefer to find a 50 standing alone and release everything I have on him and move on to another hardline and another 50 standing alone.

On vector it's generally known that when /duel'ing you don't pop a pill, TB, HB or get buffed (unless it's a self buff build) saying that people who duel use exploits is complete BS, with not a scrap of evidence to prove it, and last time I checked Macro's are allowed ingame for fighting, although I wouldn't recommend u do it since if something goes wrong and you need to rearrange yer attacks, I wouldn't like to start scrolling through abilities tab.

I enjoy fighting Tytanya and all of a sudden I see her in area chat with:

Tytanya: ss/use 5; 9

Hehe. Macro slip-up ftw!
