Very odd, indeed. I think us machines should be keeping an eye on Gray, this just adds even more suspicion.

Maye the incomplete part could be explained by Rarebit's words in a previous thread:

So maybe Gray had a meeting with a group or a Faction, or maybe General's men to ask for their help against Mero, like Niobe did.

After the breakdown of talks resulting in Agents kicking commando's butts in the 3.3 machine criticals, I doubt the General will be allying with the Machines anytime soon.

Quite right, Romav. Still, there are evident elements in Gray's behaviour showing that he may be pursuing his own agenda or vendetta against Mero (or someone else?). That would be the reason of meeting someone in private anyway. Even if the official Machine line towards the General is hostile, Gray could have his own, ...personal reasons.
