I'm in the mood for something different. The problem with this game is it gets so bloody expensive (in game) to level up a new skill.... and doing so blindly can be a huge risk.

Early in pre launch I tried knives but found them too risky for missions. Assuming I didn't miss anything, are they still impractical for mission levelling?

I guess some other advice I'm looking for is:

- What kind of clothing helps you with this role?

- Is PvP viable? A lot of combat types seem to have a 'paper, rock, scissor' effect. What templates scare you as a knife thrower?

- Any general template advice would be cool.

I really haven't tried it to any depth, but I wanted to try something different. This looks cool on the surface I'm hoping someone can help fill in the blanks.

It's hacker in sheeps clothing.

Knife Thrower is only useful in PvP for the most part. And only really at level 50.

You need:

Focus

RCT Clothes

DR Clothes(for other knife throwers and gunmen)

400 VD(for Hackers)

CT Boosters

IS Regen

They do the same combo with Find Weakness over and over and over and over again. So...I guess it takes a tolerance for boredom and a willingness to do the same thing repeatedly.

What Nanohaxial said,

work out the affect each move has. Eg - when im pvping in team I use sever artery a lot because it impairs movement and prevent HJ. Alone I'll go straight into the moves that do the damage

Thanks for the feedback. I just thought it looked really cool on the outside. I guess it isn't. It seems strong but kinda boring.... repeating the same move over, and over again. I'll have to give it a shot regardless. If all else fails I can just code up assassin and give that a whirl.

IMO All characters are predictable and repetitive only when the players
that are using them are so.  MKT has many specials to chose from
and they all cause a state, you want different states depending who
you´re up against and how hes attacking/defending, so you combine them
accordingly.  Eventually most melee fighters tell all ranged
fighters off, so if you play to win their approval you won´t.  But
you´ll farm cq like there´s no tomorrow.

an old saying but "knowing your enemy" plays great for a MKT, with expereince you learn what you should or should not do, cause with MKT sometimes is about getting away and sometimes its showing them you aint afriad SMILEY , learn the tactics, and you will quickly become a good knife thrower....
#12800000332 10/16/2005 03:25:10 Re: What does it take to be a good knife chucker?
You have to be good at pressing buttons, everytime I see some moron saying "OMG BUT THT TREE REQUIERS NO SKILLZ IT'S JUST PRESING BUTTANS LOL" well, newsflash: all trees in the game are about pressing buttons. You need  as many skills to click sidekick combo as you need to click subdoing throw or code shock.

Some builds are more efficient than others, but atleast MKTs are easy to avoid, all you need is about 30 DR on clothing which you can easily, Hyper Dodge and no un-buffed knife thrower would land a knife on you. Now can you avoid hackers? even with 400 VD they will still have a big chance to hit you. Can you avoid MAs? I know the rolling out enraged and stunned thing is kind messed up right now but once they fix it and a MA enrages you..well...say goodbye hollywood and there's nothing you can do to stop it unless putting up a fight if you are using an interlock build.

MKT is good because you can easily defeat most other players in PvP

its hard to avoid the hackers though

what i do is i load up Master Assassin with MKT

Subdoing throw

Pop Evade

Reverse bulldog

Bulldog

CQ point

Repeat

#12800000604 11/23/2005 14:33:48 Re: What does it take to be a good knife chucker?
MKT aint to difficult, first you need your focus but also if you want to you can load mkt/assassin.. but your week against hackers, and that sucks, but if you can stun them first you can run up analyze weakness and stun them again or you can just chuck knifes like a crazy MAFIA HITMAN and just do it till their dead, or as i do i stun and then i step back go back into sneak and i reverse bulldog (if it don't kill them) i just throw more knifes at them WOOT I WIN....
