I just ran the script for the test sevrer and i got this message every time i click the desktop shortcut:

Failed to create copy of the launcher or a critical support library for patching. If you have a file called matrix.exe in your game dictionary, pleaase make sure it's writeble.

Anyone get this problem or is it just that i'm dumb and missed somthing SMILEY

hmmm....I don't know what to say about this SMILEY

I diden't use the script....all I did was copy "The Matrix Online" folder to the same place and renamed it to "The Matrix Online - EP Server"

Give that a try and see if you get the same error, I don't think you will.

Lets try one more thing SMILEY....lets not give up yet!

Try to get in contact with SOE support and see what they have to say, if they can't help you post about it and we will go from there....I can't think of anything else right now but if I do I will post. There has to be a fix...we just need to find it SMILEY

Im having the same problem - anyone get a fix for this yet? Let me know
#12400007939 01/11/2006 20:26:41 Re: Test server problem
I know its because my launcher to get into MXO is named "launcher" not "matrix' like the default is set. So how do i make this work? I tried renaming "launcher' to "matrix" in my matrix online folder (not QA) but then it wont let me log in to the matrix (not QA abviously becuase im not that far yet). There must be an easy fix to this. Where is it though :/

Ok, well not sure if this has been answered elsewhere.  But I was having issues getting the patch to come when trying to launch from the Test folder, which seems like the same issue a few others are having.

After talking to a wise friend (thanks Uljhar) he told me that there are some settings in windows that could be stopping me from getting going.  I gave it a shot, and it worked.....so figured i'd share with others, and hopefully it works for you too!

Here is a screenie of a box you need to make sure is UN-clicked

#12400008006 01/13/2006 19:24:38 Re: Test server problem
From what I came to see.  This made the 'launcher' icon display now as 'launcher.exe'

And also made my useropts file display properly as 'useropts.cfg'

You can access that menu from about any open folder window.

Just double click your 'my computer' and go from there.
