2) Since I know they do not do full Live Events like on MxO, then are
there RP groups like my Syntax Player Live Event Team on some servers?
3) If you had one thing from SWG that you wanted in MxO and vice-versa, than what would it be?

I've just recently started on it, but have done a fair bit of forum trolling so i'll chime in first with my noob perspective...
1) What is the combat upgrade like? Is it any diffrent than what the old combat was like.
Although I obviously wasn't there previously, the CU is probably the first thing any SWG vet will tell you about when asked about the game. Its the reason a lot of them left, and the main reason why, is that it introduced Jedi.
The game is set, I beleive, between Episode's V and VI - during which time, Jedi were all but extinct... the introduction of Jedi as a profession obviously spawned a wave of people acquiring it. Jedi roaming all over the place despite their 'extinction' ruined the 'immersive experience' of a lot of people, and also created a lot more interest in the Bounty Hunter profession, which is, from what I gather, the best or the only way to track down and kill a Jedi.
To be honest, i've been playing for a week or so now, and i've only seen one Jedi. For me, the CU thing isn't an issue simply because I wasn't there before it came into place, and i'm not really a die-hard SWG fan, so the immersive experience problem isn't as big an issue to me as it would be to most people.

It depends... i'd say its pretty much the same as mXo in its balance of those who want to roleplay, and those who just want to run around shooting things...
However SWG gives you more tool to build on your roleplaying experiences. A small example is player-cities, where you can create guild halls, elect mayors etc, and really build the politics of your establishment... Theres also an outlet for you to pursue your roleplay path... a small example being reputation... if your character decides to slaughter a whole bunch of Tuskans.. then a few weeks down the line, if you bump into them, they will try and kick your *CENSORED*. Thats only a minute way in which your roleplay character is given a bit more authenticity, as your actions actually can and in most cases do have ongoing consequences.
But as for finding Roleplayers - theres actually a way to search the entire community in-game for anyone who has noted themselves as a roleplayer.

1) I took a sabbatical from SWG to play MxO in beta, after i hit lvl 50 in live i decided to go back to SWG for the combat upgrade, It's kinda like playing a different game altogether. Yes SOE did screw up a few things such as give 4x xp (sudden influx of grinding from padawan to knight within a week) and too many respecs. However i still very much enjoy the game, and i'm now in charge of my Guild on chimeara.
2) There are plenty of RP groups (at least one on each server as far as i know). I have taken part in a few RP events and of course being a Bounty Hunter i try to stay in character when hunting Jedi (ergo a sociopath).
3) Bounty Hunting System, thats be all and end all.
Regards

What caused the Jedi problem after the combat upgrade is that they changed the process you had to go through to become a jedi.
It's easier to grind jedi now though... Also the hologrind system before the current Village system wasn't too mysterious really. Just get some holocrons which tell you what profession to master to advance towards jedi and then finally grind all the professions until you get a message that you've unlocked.
