What's the best operative branch to get? So which is the strongest?

Is it cuttroat --> Assasin, Kung fu master, Karate master??

Post your opinions SMILEY

I personally like Kungfu Master the most, but Karate is good as well.

Cutthroat/Assassin is great for offensive support roles, but being able to hold your own in interlock is most important, imo.

I am going to go with Duelist.  It is a nice combo of range and melee and is fun to watch.

In the MA world, though, I will go with Aikido.  The joy of
stripping other people's buffs and tossing them around is great.
Plus you get 'Style Points' when you beat a Fu or Karate user.
You know and They know you beat them even though they dealt more damage
per hit.  SMILEY

In a one on one situation Rifleman/sniper and knife thrower are the best branchs.

As a MKT, I'm confident that I could beat a Grandmaster outside of interlock easily. Even if he does IL me - roll out, subduing throw and continue ranged attacks. MAs can soak up damage which means That riflemen can often have a hard time beating them. KTs on the other hand just use the analyse weakness ability and can kill in very few moves

Karate has an advantage here, as most of its special moves requirw

Hmm, that last message broke :>

As I was saying, Karate has an advantage as most of its special moves require staggered, which is gotten from the piercing power attack, which gives that MA tree a slight edge over the other two.

Duelist is good, but can be beaten at range by Rifleman, and in IL by an MA (provided covering fire didn't hit, or pistol barrage didn't render them powerless). They should give the tree a proper free fire debuff move, like with smg specialist. But the 3 ranged branches are at a disadvantage, as just one disarming shot renders them useless long enough to be killed.

MKTs are just Ballistas in denial, so I don't really consider them part of the Operative tree SMILEY

None of the operative branches are 'best' as such, but some are unquestionably more suitable than others in certain situations.

Aikido is the best for PVP. Rolls higher than Kung Fu and pretty much the same damage as Karate, plus powerless and enrage 100% chance. Tomo Nage is a killer.

Karate is all about high rolls, damage and a chance of stun. No real debuffes or states.

Kung Fu is useless for PVP, the less damaging discipline and no real enrage. Has lots of debuffes so it might have some use for duels.

Duelist is powerful when sided with karate or Aikido but weak alone. Damage is minimum, the only good move is pistol aerial and there's a good chance that your pistol dash will get outrolled even by hackers. You will get disarmed a lot.

SMG Specialist - The most useless tree in the game after Data Miner and Ravager. All about a slight change of enrage and most moves require dazed. Not to mention the HUGE IS cost.

Expert Rifleman, got bored of Knife Thrower? Try this out.

Sniper - Good with Expert Riffleman. (Armor Piercing)

So far my favourite is the above mentioned Duelist with Karate. The
Duelist attacks generally roll pretty high, but without the Karate, you
can't do enough damage to kill the enemy without running out of IS.
Also, if you get disarmed, you still have the few Karate attacks to
use.

I've noticed the low roll of Dual Pistol Dash too. Been called a newb
by hackers and told I need to learn how to PvP simply because they
outrolled that attack to start the fight. Best solution? Just try it
again and kill them this time SMILEY If you can avoid the inevitable stun...

IMO there is no "best" or "strongest" tree they all have there good and bad points just you have to know how to use them. SMG is not useless I have used it be4 in pvp had had very nice results. I agree some of the moves for pvp are not the best but what tree has moves that are all perfect.

I think it can be generally agreed that no one branch is going to leave you victorious in a fight. It's the combination of branches that seems to do the trick. I prefer Karate and Duelist, but that's because I like to look good, even if I lose.

I have to add my two cents on SMG, which I have used primarily since beta.  I didn't see anyone mention the fact that SMG have pretty effective root tactics.  Not much use against hackers, but against spys they keep the little buggers from getting aaway and u can engage in interlock to stay away from ranged attacks.

One on one with anti-virus clothing an SMG can outwait the stun effect, pop a few pills, and then pop a few caps.  The IS cost can be counterbalanced by using Widow Moor's cap and a program launcher.  Get a few health regen buffs and you're a tank!!

SMGs do have to be careful in multi figthing situations because its easy to get your *CENSORED* handed to u when stunned by hackers.

I can normally take out MA without much problem - sometimes before they can get me into interlock.  Root and rain bullets with SMG.

Handy to have ranged combat tactic buffs too.
