As the old topic was deleted along with everything else, I figured I should make a new topic so that those who don't know about the city maps on The MxO Archive can find them easily:

http://www.mxoarchive.net/maps.html

Includes maps taken from the in-game menus and map screens. The small-scale maps are identical to those in-game, but the larger maps have been compiled from the hardline menu screens and the neighborhoods have been color-coded to make it easier to see where the borders are. They aren't necessarily 100% accurate in terms of borders, but I did take great pains to make sure they were compiled perfectly and not just thrown together without care.

I'll try and get any incomplete features finished over the next few weeks, but I have a lot of other things to catch up on now that I have my laptop back, so updates may be a while. I'll announce anything new on this topic in the future.

Enjoy!

THIS MAN IS PURE GENIOUS!

Don't know how he does it, don't know why he does it, he just does. And you know what? I enjoy looking at his site...it's got me as a n00blet. Man those were old days...anyway, MxO archive, pretty cool site, check it out.

Glad to have you back Stack
#11700000103 11/04/2005 18:28:39 Re: Maps available on The MxO Archive
After putting it off for several months, I finally completed the Downtown Comprehensive Map by adding all of the local neighborhood mission contacts. I also created a separate map with the contacts marked in their exact locations. They can both be found here:

http://www.mxoarchive.net/downtown_cp.html
http://www.mxoarchive.net/downtown_cn.html

Now that those are done, the only things I have left to do are the Club Map and the Exile map for Downtown.

#11700000155 11/22/2005 15:37:50 Re: Maps available on The MxO Archive
Updates have been made to the Richland hardline and comprehensive maps
to account for the relocation of the Uriah Industrial Park (NE)
hardline and Uriah's primary collector, Fastback. I've also added an
icon for Mars Industrial Storage to the comprehensive map (since I
forgot to add it when this exile hideout was added late in the beta
test). That icon has been there since the game went live, but I only
just now added it because I forgot about it SMILEY

Updates to the Access Node / Exile map are forthcoming. I'll be
gathering info this afternoon to do a complete update on boss and node
key locations.

Stack, I haven't siad it before but your a credit to the game &
community. The MxO Archive has been my bible since I started and
remains my first point of call whenever I have a question.

Thanks.

Due to unfortunate actions on the part of Mek, owner of the MxO Archive
URL, the old addresses will not work for a while. Until control of the
URL is relinquished to me, use this address to access the Maps page:

#11700000336 03/06/2006 19:26:24 Re: Maps available on The MxO Archive
Whew....

I finally got the first of the Archive maps completed. I know this isn't really much of a priority at the moment (I'm still a good three months behind on my journal entries, among other things), but this was something that I've been meaning to do for a very long time, and it's nice to have it off my shoulders.

So, without further ado:

http://panther.dnshosters.net/~mxoarchi/yuki.html

Lovingly hand-crafted from the finest pixels, this map of the Yuki Archive was made to be a more accurate depiction of the area and includes buildings, paths, and water. The normal in-game map, which looks like, as my friend Jerry said when he came in to see what I was working on, "all kinds of *CENSORED*," is also available here:

http://panther.dnshosters.net/~mxoarchi/yuki_old.html

And a comprehensive edition of the new map is available here as well:

http://panther.dnshosters.net/~mxoarchi/yuki_cp.html

I'm not entirely sure about the boarders of the PvP zone along the Machinist and Merovingian bases, since my affiliation lies elsewhere, so if anybody knows where they are more precisely, let me know and I'll fix any mistakes.

:smileysurprised:

1,000th post! Woo hoo!!! :smileyhappy::smileyhappy::smileyhappy:

Ahem... so I guess I should post something useful instead of just smilies, so here's the only current working direct link to the maps page:

Enjoy!

Stack, you going to get yourself another domain and have your rightful place in the Official MxO links page?
#11700000443 04/20/2006 15:08:24 Re: Maps available on The MxO Archive
I told Walrus what the temporary domain is and he put up a link already. Still, though, I'm checking every so often to see if the original gets freed up.

See if ya can get it with a different domain name because it may not be freed up for at least a year, or a long time. After all, it's the MxO Archive. Does it matter that it ends in .com, how about .net or something?
#11700000450 04/21/2006 11:35:12 Re: Maps available on The MxO Archive
Well, Mek said it would expire a month from February. It might be on an extended grace period, in which case it may be another month or two, but I doubt it'll be another year. He registered it for me in February of '05 and said he wouldn't renew it.

I'll also see about contacting the registrar company to see if they can make an exception on the grace period in this case.

Also, can a mod stickie this one since it's a very useful maps.

Well, I was gonna put my 2,000th post on this topic like I did with my 1,000th, but I got carried away on the RSI forum, so....

2,001st post!!!
WOO HOOOOOO!!!

There. And again, I guess I should post some sort of update, so... I guess I might be able to finish up that Downtown Exile map one of these days? SMILEY

EDIT: W00t! I'm no longer a boring ol' Veteran Operator! But the pale blue color is kinda dull SMILEY
#36300185968 03/12/2007 13:20:19 Re:Maps available on The MxO Archive
Actually looking at the links that you put in today, and I see nothing about
matrix maps. I just see a generic type page for advertisement.

#36300189428 03/16/2007 19:52:11 Re:Maps available on The MxO Archive
Yeah, I should probably update those old links. The .com address still hasn't been freed up.

Aaand, actually... the .net site is down for the rest of the month, too, since everybody downloading the soundtrack overloaded the bandwidth.... So it looks like the mirror is the only option SMILEY

#36300398680 02/03/2008 03:30:43 Re:Maps available on The MxO Archive
Well now...

After putting this off for... like... a few years, I finally have gotten around to finishing the Downtown Access Node & Exile Map, complete with gang territories, bosses, Access Key drops, Access Nodes, Neighborhood Collectors, and Exile Dungeons. I had mostly been putting it off since I hadn't reached level 50 and couldn't easily get close enough to the bosses to place blip markers at their locations.

Anyway, it's finally done, and I also threw together a Downtown Club Map, which I somehow never got around to making either.

With that, the main parts of the MxO Archive map projects are complete. The only things I have left to do are whip together some maps for the Constructs, and maybe tweak the old maps a bit for accuracy / convenience. I might tinker around with transparency for labelling and such (I hadn't even learned how to use layers when I made these back in Beta), but for now, the bulk of the work is complete.

Those are pretty cool ^_^

But now you may have to do it again with the new area SMILEY

Oh believe me, I'm quite looking forward to mapping out the new area, whether it's just a construct or a whole new district.

Aaand since I've been busy lately filling up my ability tree, I realized how darn useful it would be if somebody made a red frag map.

Wow, that's KEEEEWL!

First the animation fixes, then this - YOU WANTED ME BACK SO BADLY, eh, Rare?
j/k

Cool news, and great screenshots too.
#36300403564 02/10/2008 11:55:23 Re:Maps available on The MxO Archive
stack, on your red frag map you have two locations that say they drop clothing subs.  Baldwin heights should say it drops operative subs.
#36300403636 02/10/2008 15:07:29 Re:Maps available on The MxO Archive
Ooh, good catch, thanks. Can't believe I missed that, I was farming Baldwin just last week for Operative Subs.
