In case you haven't noticed, Rarebit has begun a thread for submiting MxO Sketches (I'm guessing for DN1).

Sweet, this sounds awesome.  I hope I'm not breaking any rules, here. hehe >_>

Rarebit, that drawing is off da hook.  Deja vu? SMILEY" />

I'll have to get one of my faction mates to submit something...

How big (resolution) can we post?  Hehe...I have several full-notebook sized scans.
#11400023015 04/24/2006 20:34:21 Re: (Non) Official MxO Sketches Discussion Thread
If it's super-big you might just want to link it, so as not to stretch out the forum page too much. I drew mine at 1600x1600 (not counting the border), and then just scaled it down to a more manageable size.
#11400023016 04/24/2006 20:35:47 Re: (Non) Official MxO Sketches Discussion Thread
Can you scan mine down in my first response?  I kept getting forum errors while trying to edit it.

Oh, I mean that I sized the graphic down in Photoshop.

I don't know if this is related to the problem you're having, but the two images you have hosted on null-white.net (the big one, and your sig) are having loading problems in my browser.

I agree with Shadow here. I think that picture is slick. I really admire people that can draw. I think it's a wonderful talent, and a great pass time.

Well, those nice new black outfits they have (looks like the General is wearing one) would be a lot more stealthy at night, giving him the opportunity to achieve somthing more than the abduction of a little girl.

Custom made SVD variant?

The magazine threw me off a touch, maybe chambered for a larger round then the original guns 7.62mm, the scope mount/trigger guard is what leads me to believe this, total russian style, most american/EU weapons feature a top mounted scope, there is a noticable gap between scope/frame for the purpose of using the iron sights as back up if needed.

Looks like a laser sight mounted under the fore grip, possibly a bipod folded in, however the lack of noticable "caps" on the cyclander leads me to lean toward laser sight.

The extremely large supresser/silencer on that bit leads me to again lean toward the gun having been rechambered for a round with a ton more "punch" then the regular use 7.62 mm round.

Or, you just made a pretty sketch.

Well, the rounds themselves would be bigger, not the actual magazine they went in, that and 99% of russian made weapons would be rocking a curved AK-style bananna mag, not a box mag, as the picture shows.

The scope is the main feature that draws one to conclude it is in some way Soviet hardware, as they are honestly the only ones to consistently use a side mount for scopes for going on half a century now [German Kar-98 Sniper varients used a side mount].

/shrug

Bigger rounds need a larger box, eh? Anyways, this is pretty close to the rifle.
#36300332346 10/02/2007 23:27:04 Re:Official MxO Sketches Discussion Thread
The things like extra propellent, etc used in the "sniper" varients of regular rounds [in this case, 7.62mm] do not cause the rounds themselves to physically take up more room.

Now, a rechambered rifle all together for a calibar different then normal, yes, it would.

SMILEY  Thanks Lots Illyria!  It was very fun making it.  I'll have a toon made on Recursion here shortly - I've got 3 more commissions!  Yey!  Keep em' coming guys!  I like drawing Matrix characters.

HT - I like the 2nd one the best.  The red/black one.  It has the best definition and emotional impact.

Hmmmms - HT, Rarebit:
I know Rarebit will be putting his newest art up soon as he's done with his little avatar game thing.  Is it just my psychotic imagination  ... but why do I have this really wierd feeling like you're competing with me in some way?  Soon as I post some art (especially Rarebit) rushes to post up a piece of art immediately afterwards.  Even after the thread has been buried several pages back for a month or 2.  Soon as I post something - BAM - Rarebit's gotta post a new pic right after me ... first time I seen HT do it though.
Men - oi .... everything has to be a competition with them. SMILEY
Heh heh heh - aaawwwhhh I think it's cuuuuuute - especially from RarebitSMILEY SMILEY
I'm not trying to compete with anyone - I'm just doing what I do, how I do it - jeesh.  I highly respect everyone's artwork - even if they have drastically different styles than I do.  I love everyone. - only hope they like me the same -

Rarebit makes me sad because I don't think he respects me the same way I've grown to respect him - despite our differences in artistic taste SMILEY   *sad now*

Uh-oh. When you say 'no more than three commissions per month', do you mean per person or generally? If the latter, I guess I'm gonna have to wait for my commission. SMILEY I need some spare time to gather appropriate materials anyway, mind.

Actually - I changed that.  I'll take as many as I can for now.

I would be honorned to draw the great Procurator!  That would be really cool!

It's just I have my real life job that takes up most of my time and i hardly have any play time as it is when I get home.  Maybe I need to just pop in for an hour or so ... see what's going on.

Anyway - if you want to gather your stuff and PM me with details and I'll get back to you
