remnant of his influence from the cimulation for that to happen- but
perhaps there could be a way for him to rise again we don't know of, or
perhaps a program might discover the same ability Smith had and create
such a following.

Cyther is dead and he has an org named after him so I guess if there was a smith org/faction they will support what he did and not smith himself. They would want someone else to become the negative part of the equation and somehow overcome the positive part of the equation (the 'One') to take over the matrix. But it wouldn't make sense because it's no benefit to them and they would end up losing what they've got.

Yet still we have the Cypherites and E Pluribus Neo.
Anyway, yeah I'm sure several factions have turned up claiming to be followers of Smith but they never last.

Psudo, do you not understand the reason Agent Gray began attacking Redpills? Ill give you a hint-Watch the Original Movie, and pay attention to what Smith says while Interrogating Morpheus-and compare it to the reason Gray attacked Humans for. And, Smith's BODIES are dead, but there were Fragments of them Scattered throughout the MegaCity, and these "Smith ViableFrags" are still active.
And yes, a Smith Org would be possible, and they would possibly Try to Find these "Smith ViableFrags" and craft them into a functioning incarnation of the Smith Virus, whilist trying to hinder the Machines deletion of the "Smith ViableFrags", and the view of them as Extremists is a good touch. But some questions-Who would be Their Mission Controller, who would give them Captain Status, What would their mission Item's be(Both regular and Reward), WHAT WOULD THEY BE CALLED!?!?!

Yes, Neo Has his Faction(EPN), and the Oracle said that "Smith is the Negative to your Positive, the equation trying to balance itself out", So it's only Natural that there be a Negative(Smith Org) to balance the Positive(EPN).
Remember when Gray's potentially being infected by Smith was a major background plot that would sorta surface every once in a while, like Edmontons and Morpheus? Those were the good old days... now we have wireframed ghouls running around zapping Agents dead while Zion squabbles with itself, the Machines ignore every major plot hole thrown at them, and the Merovingian looks as if he could vanish from the face of the Matrix and nobody would notice.
Sorry, rambling. Anyway, only the Merovingian has room for a sub-org, and I strongly support using it as Neutral, Civilian, or something associated with non-combatant Exile groups, like the Oracle/Morpheus Sim's little posse.
