#10600005509 06/21/2006 20:21:54 Looking for a good machinist faction

I recently have decided to create a new character on this server, after playing on the Recursion server for over one year (Method before the merge), and I have decided to follow the path of a machinist. I have talked to some people in-game and looked at some of the recruiting threads on this section of the forums, but I am still undecided and torn between some of the factions that have caught my attention. Although some factions have impressed me, I want to make sure I consider all of the most prominent machinist factions before making my decision. To avoid any confusion, I will just say now that I will NOT be joining the cypherites at all, so please only reply to this thread with information about your faction if you are a machinist.

One of the most important things to me is that the faction I join is a faction that knows how to incorporate RP into their PVP; in other words, I have absolutely no interest in joining a faction that simply engages in constant and mindless OOC fighting, but does not do any RP at all, or have any RP reasons to justify and explain why they are fighting their enemies. I am looking for a serious machinist faction that RP's and follows the machinist cause. As a fair warning, one of the things I do not tolerate is OOC bashing and hot-headed/elitist attitudes, so I will not join any factions that engage in this sort of behavior or condones this sort of behavior. I am only looking for a serious and mature machinist faction.

Another thing I would like is a helpful faction, that helps with things like leveling and missioning. I understand a lot of PVP takes place and there will inevitably be times where everyone may be engaged in various fights, but one of the most important things in a faction is teamwork and helping each other out, and this must extend beyond PVP. I am not looking for a PVP team, but rather I am looking for a faction where all the members can depend on one another, and are always willing to help each other out. I also would prefer the faction to have a good member base; the faction does not necessarily need to be huge, but a fair amount of people so there is usually someone on is certainly something I prefer.

So in conclusion, I am looking for a serious machinist faction that is not only machinist in name, but machinist in its beliefs, ideologies, purpose, and goals. If your faction posses all of these qualities, please reply to this thread and tell me about your faction. And as my signature states, my name on Vector is LordVolxen, so please feel free to contact me in-game as well. I look forward to getting to know all of the different machinist factions.

Operative LordVolxen~

If
you choose to join Likwid Hyuzu, you will receive our SKYNET
software.  SKYNET was a human made military software program; once
activated the system was automatically aware and programmed for war.
The humans own foolishness with not programming our software to aide
the humans came there demise. It may only be hardware but but it is in
no mean's puppets to such an ignorant species. The future from that
point was only filled with an on-going war between the machine race and
the humans. The war lasted year's, as we grew more intelligent, we were
able to construct better machines and more lifelike "shells" as a
military counter-tool in the on-going war. SKYNET's limit to knowledge
and power is never ending.  Upon acceptance of our software to be
uploaded to your RSI, you will officially be enrolled into the
Cyberdyne Management Program.  This includes Combat tactics,
Coding awareness, Self-Help, Profession advancement, Patching and
Healing support, Missioning.  The number of courses you can take
can only be limited to the amount of courses that you wish to
take.  Remember this, your future is fused...

Hey ryan! You shall consider G7G too! We are a long term multigaming faction in enumerator/vector since beta. We once had big numbers, now we are trying to recover our glory. We of course help to level and to learn the game (well, you won't need to learn the game since you are a veteran, but vector might have some different faces). We also love to RP and so.

Hello!? Hostile server? Good luck justifying and explaining everytime you fight someone.

Yah man! Good Luck! I'd recommend Jokerz because it's and older BETA faction and has pretty good operatives. Also, Likwid Hyuzu, they like to RP. But any machine faction should be fine, they need more numbers.

Apologies, apparently the above link doesn't work due to a silly typo on my part and it won't let me edit the post.

You can access our forums here : http://sin.freeforumhost.com

Below I have posted an excerpt of our Code of Conduct. If you are looking for a strongly story-driven faction, please check us out. We are relatively small, and only recently started the faction. If the prospect of helping a new faction thrive and grow appeals to you, feel free to contact us. If you would prefer a larger and already established Faction, I can certainly recommend either Likwid Hyuzu or Systematic Chaos.

It begins...
The Truce. For many 'Redpills' the moment it all began. Every passing day, more and more become awakened to the Matrix, their numbers growing exponentially. Zions, EPN, Exiles, Merovingians, Cypherites and even Machines themselves putting strain on the system with their increasing numbers.

The Matrix has it's own force of security, it's inherent system of control. But the Agents, despite their unrivaled power, are limited in numbers and in the end only programs bound to the system they serve and protect. And the number of Redpills keeps increasing, the chaos they bring only grows.

This is where we come in. The few, the proud, handpicked by the System itself, deputized to assist the Agents in upholding the integrity of the Matrix. For if it falls, so will all who dwell within, and countless of lives will perish. Be steadfast, be unrelenting, be efficient. You are deemed worthy to become an Agent of the System...

Code of Conduct
As can be derived from the above, all members are expected to preserve and protect The Matrix and it's integrity. This basically means you act and react as an Agent would, within reason of course. After all, being human we are very much aware of our own limitations.
We 'police' the Matrix. This means we make sure our fellow Redpills don't break the rules as put forward in The Truce. At present people mock Agents, as they only appear if you stay in the mission area for too long. The rest of the time, they are carefree and just living it up. Hyperjumping/speeding, hacking, reality-bending feats,.. All these things would shock too many bluepills and destabilize the Matrix as a whole. It's these kind of infractions we act upon. Whenever you see someone performing something 'unnatural', react as an agent would. If the Devs won't give us proper Agents, we will provide them ourselves.
We do not 'gank'. We simply don't pay attention to levels. A lvl 10 soaring through the skies Hyperjumping is in equal transgression as a lvl 50 doing so. Feel free to give them a warning if you're feeling nice, but we won't hold it against you if you don't. As long as he was actually doing something wrong of course. We do however request you give Coders a warning and ample time to upload their stuff. We don't grief.
On the other hand, we do not simply engage enemies for no reason, as that would be against our own policy. After all, we end fights, we don't start them. If there's a bunch of ppl simply hanging out at a HL, we do not attack them simply because they con hostile.
Again, we protect and support the Matrix and it's Agents. If there's inter-org fighting going on, we jump in to break them up (hopefully ) and end the 'disturbance'. If people blatantly use inhuman powers, we make them stop (either voluntarily or forcibly).
Be creative, use your own judgement, think like an Agent would. We don't require nor expect you to be 'in character' roleplaying an agent 24/7, least of all in /fc. But keep in mind though, we're trying to 'add' something more to the game and the players, so at the very least try to be 'memorable' when interacting with others

Signed,

Nothing,

Director of The Agency

Ah, sorry bout that. Was asked to post this for someone without DN1 account and didn't check all replies as I was kinda rushed at work. My bad.

LH is a decent faction, so I can only commend him on his choice.
