got to this by going to the Fileplanet homepage-->MMOG
section-->The Matrix Online-->The Matrix Online Trial-->Get
Our Key Here
Why is it closed? I thought we were doing so well...now Phrog and I won't have any more newbies to welcome. *sniff* :smileysad:
Also, this is what I get when I click on the free trial link on Stratics' front page: 404

That was supposed to be only open for a week, and then closed.

They changed their minds and decided to extend the Trial. I think till the keys ran out. Not sure. Maybe that's what happened?

Well i guess it was not doing as well as it started, i remember when i came home every day to see an extra 5-10k more keys given out.
I guess it was not worth the money to keep paying fileplanet.

When I tried going through Stratics the page just sent me to a 404, that was ... 9 days ago. Talk about cutting it close

ive just tried getting a key for a friend using the "get the trial" from thethematrixonline.com front page and going through the fileplanet process and it works fine, gave me a new key which i will be passing along to him to play with, so it seems it does still work from the matrix homepage.

To be honest we were lucky enough to have the trial run as long as it did (and be as successful as it was)
It was only intended for like a week or so then got extended until they ran outta keys.

I asked rarebit about this and walrus was not aware the keys had run out. So I think they are looking into it.

Most likely. I mean its not like SOE could give them enough keys to last an indefinite period of time. Chances are they now have to send both groups a new batch of keys. Wonder how they create new key combo's or if they recycle keys that are not used after X amount of time.

Hexadecimel FTW. They have literally millions upon millions of possible combinations for keys. No need to recycle.

This makes me sad. Why?
It makes me sad because when the free trial had just been announced most new players left because this game seemed buggy like hell because of one **bleep** single bug. THAT **bleep** EVADE BUG! It made MxO to new players look like crap, everywhere,

Many times I'd be introducing new guys around or I would see in area chat why the hell they couldn't attack the mobs.
Now that they got rid of the bug it and the hype of the free trial is over it's closed. Of course we couldn't expect to get all the olayers or even around 80%. More like 30-50% of the players, but this just bites, get the bug fixed after the free trial and the hype is done. :smileysad:
