Because not many people are not at Mara Central?
Don't know, I avoid it most of the time and spend a lot of time Downtown nowadays.

Ofcourse this thread is pointless, you didn't even make a point, all you said was why not Mara Central. Well what about it? Why not what. Elaborate, what do you mean be why not Mara Central.

In Beta i hung out at Zia most of the time. It wasnt untill after the launch that i went to mara central at all.
Maybe he means why we moved the wedding from the Church in Mara Central. Well, when we arrived there was a lot of the usual PVP going on there along with threats from some to disrupt the ceremony. There was also a new NPC standing where we had planned to stand. So everybody just ran north to the next Church.

I find Mara C to be asteticly displeaseling. It just has no love in it what so ever, a highway, 2 vendors, a church and a monument. Thats it. This is where everyone wants to hang out? I mean come on, I know people like to pvp and gang the lower levels but this is just pathetic to choose such a crappy place. Yeah they did it in beta, so what? Yeah it was on the defualt list, your point? Their are so many nicer locations that its obserd, take the central park hardlines, big giant park great for PVP but you never see people there now do you.
Zia (something) was the most crowded hardline in early beta, then they removed the hardline and people went to Mara C instead.

Seriously, I think people who want pvp or whatever don't care much about how good-looking the place looks but how many players you can find there. Central Park might be nice but as you can't see any players there no one goes there. Maybe if a big faction decide to change that and all hang around and fight in Central Park it'll get much more popular. Maybe someone really tries that. Although Central Park is better without players as any part of the city
Mara C used to be Coder central. That was where I would be hawking my skills and coding clothes. However, the PVP crowd pretty much moved in sometime right after Beta and it hasn't been the same since. Thing is, ANY place where people hang out, whether it is for Role PLaying (gasp) or trading, it will always turn into Duel Central.

Yeah i never understood the appeal of Mara. The only reason I go there is cos i know there will be alot of people there if i wanna duel or try to find a coder. If I wanna mission then I try to get far away from Mara, my favorite spots being Eshean East and recently Gracy Heights Central.
There's also lots more peaceful and interesting places to hang out if you just wanna hang out. There's so many bars in International and loads of run down diners in Westview. I remember how much fun I had once with a couple of guys just hanging out in the kitchen of this diner, especially when these machinists came in and tried to order food. They got major spit burgers.
I believe Mara C was the start point in Beta. Or something like that. That's the most logical reason I've heard. Communities spring up in the oddest places sometimes and people hate moving. Like Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Only reason a city is there is because the Northwest Mounted Police (now the RCMP) decided this was as good a place as any to build a little fort. Kind of central. Close to the Blackfoot tribes to the south and west. Cree tribes to the north and east. Pass through the rockies just to the west. River close by. Americans just to the south. Then settlers and natives started hanging out around Fort Calgary because that's where supplies and news travelled through. And then a village cropped up. Then a town. Then a city. :robotvery-happy:
Now... you couldn't get rid of all those people hanging around where Fort Calgary used to be if you tried. :smileywink:

This thread was SPAM. A protest at the 7 other 'Why does everyone hang out at mara C....' threads i have seen around these boards in the last couple of weeks. Suddenly it is thread jacked with real posts
