I stumbled across something that I hadn't tried and it seems to help. I've been able to wear outfits that I couldn't before, and I've been able to go into neighborhoods (mainly southard) that I couldn't before. I still ran Matrix in a fold...
And there it is in Maximum Verbosity - down to the very last crash. One more thing that probably doesn't relate to the problem at all, but MxO is not installed in the /program files/ directory.
