Alot of us are trying to villify SOE right now, siting the stonewalling as evidence that they just want this game to fizzle out and die. So here's two possibilities of what I think's going on behind closed doors.

1) The launch date for the agency and the server closing date for MXO are a day apart (mxo close, agency launch). It their way of saying "Play the agency, it's like mxo but it's not!". Yea, no.

2) You ever have one of those birthdays where everyone forgets your birthday? Like, no one cares that it's your birthday and you're all mad? So you're going to just go home and hang yourself, and then you open the door to your place and everyones there yelling "SURPRISE!!!" and you go skydiving with everyone and it's the best birthday ever? That's MXO and fan faire '09.

While option 1 is far, far more likely that option 2. What do you guys think SOE is doing about MXO? They haven't said anything for a reason. What do you guys think SOE has up their sleve (or in the pipes) for us?

As much as I'd love to believe SOE actually have good news for us that they plan to relay later, I very much doubt it. It's too big of a gamble delaying good news like that. They've lost god knows how many MxO players due to lack of communication.

I think they're hoping to replace MxO with the Agency. Heh, does anyone remember that screenshot Walrus showed us of Club Succubus in the Agency? So yeah... seems a lot more ironic now.

There can only ever be 1 MxO, nothing can ever replace it, but yeah it is looking that way

The way they described the Succubus reference at FF 07 was that it was just a nod to MXO, sort of like how we have Club Shogo for Monolith.

I think expecting MXO to be shut down in correspondence with anything actually implies that we matter more to SOE than we actually do. They have a semi-consistent revenue stream while spending next to no money. Why would they shut that down? We'll be kept like this with no content for as long as possible.

Is that supposed to look like complete trash, like is that supposed to make the game more intense and mysterious?
