How much for the Matrix Online? Rights, development tools, and whatever documentation you have on those tools. Who do I need to speak to? Do I need to go through you people, or through Warner Brothers? Thanks.

You must find the tallest tree in the forest and chop it down...
wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiith....
A hering!
I'm just putting it out there. I know how much potential this game has in the right hands, and I'm willing to invest some capital into it. I very much doubt -I- am the right hands... but, hell... can't be any worse than what we've got now.

SOE, its business time.
I can't see SOE doing this, as good as the idea is.
Hell, they wouldn't even give up some sort of developer tools... I doubt they'd hand us the MxO license, no matter what price.
I could always be proven wrong though.

Everything is for sale.
I already bought it...we worked out a backroom deal for 12 dollars 34 cents,a used tire from a yugo,some gobstoppers,a marble,and a can of fresca.

Cant say they will let it go anywhere near cheap tho... IMO we are better off petitioning it until they are ready to discontinue it THEN offering to buy it.
Yeah, I agree
If you want to get your hands on MxO, you'd probably have to speak to WBIE as well as SOE, and we all know what they're like. Don't reckon they'd put much credence in a forum post suggesting a deal either.

How true... (strange, had the same idea, but only theoretical... (not enough money or skills at last))
ill sell you it, just step into my office and my team will deal with the paperwork

on a more serious note, you could sub 1000 accounts . a year of thats about 180k could probly get a subsidy toward an extra pair of hands for that
I'll leave this thread here for now... but SOE couldn't sell you MxO because SOE doesn't own the IP.

Oh come now Tseng, surely you can requisition a suitcase filled with a few million dollars from your new job. Just tell thm its top secret national security or some such.
Acually, the makers of this game should buy MxO and combine the two games into one. My Stag "Mr. Toodles" will pwn all n00bs.

How gracious of you to allow the forums to be used for discussion.

Sorry Tseng. These guys are better suited for the job...

Mmm, the IP still belongs to the Wachowski Brothers, and they're notoriously reclusive and hard to contact, or so I'm told.
Corey Bridges said MxO cost $20m to make:
We want his name to be Tom...to sell shurrberries...I want him to be Tom The Shurubber

Just for fun.....
$20,000,000. It really cost that much?
How much did others cost to write?
Lets see at 30,000 (which were the last subscriber numbers I could find for about 3 years ago) that's (Gonna really show off my bad maths now) $450,000 per month ($15 per month per sub). So that's $5,400,000 a year?
So take away $400,000 a year for running costs (ie development, hardware costs and promotion)
Still means 4 years to pull back development costs? OUCH!
That means with present sub numbers, they're well short of the $20 mil.
Didn't TasteeWheat attempt to buy it a few years back on behalf of his investors, but got rejected because they were not prepared to give it up?
Let's all buy MxO shares.. oooh, ohh, I pick the car!
