Gonna be directed by none other than Robert Rodriguez (Desperado, The Faculty, From Dusk Till Dawn, Co-Director of Sin City and more recently Planet Terror).

Normally i'm dead set against remakes as the studio hires some no name director who deviates too far from the source material. But if they make this Rodriguez version of Predator a loose sequel/faithful remake then this is dang sure gonna be made of winsauce.

Lame.

I'd rather see something NEW and creative before yet another "remake". I thoroughly enjoyed AVP (despite there being too many humans, imho) and would rather see that continued since it appears to be heading into a tie-in with the first Alien movie.

I also wouldn't mind seeing the Predators hunting some of those other trophy creatures of theirs. Maybe even some more background on the Space Jockeys to take it a step further.

Rumor has it that The Rock is slated for the lead role as a 'Gung ho commando team leader' similar to Arnold's Dutch.
