Post here if you are planning on attending this year.

It will be quite a journey but I will make it. And if it's just to /punt ... nvm. Mave already did that.

Plan...Yes... but we need to know more on what will we be doing there for such as roundtables, panels and forums...and also at least please put an MxO table/PC Display at the convention area.
You gonna block me again this year? ;P

Not sure.... A few things that I wanted to express before committing to this trip...
Make us feel welcome to the Fanfaire. Many of us are feeling pretty down about the state of the game. I mean the last few years I've had the feeling we we're kinda like the kid no one talks to as school when I attended. Have some sort of table/propaganda to show people the game exists still. Give us something to do in game while we are there. Host some sort of event that takes place during Fanfaire like the rest of the games that are represented. Give us a panel discussing the state of the game and any future plans. Give us something to talk about when we get back (Not talking about drunken stories from the hotel lounge either). Have the in game item something more that just cool to look at. How about some special stats on them? These are but a few small requests that I think are do-able on the part of those are in charge of putting events and panels together for this years fanfaire.
I will wait and see what happens and will leave my decision up to what is in store for those who will travel for the 3rd year to Vegas for this event.

Interesting...
To answer: No way in hell. With the crap treatment MxO has been shown, I see no reason to fork out money to go to a SOE convention. If I went, it would only be to streak the EQ 10th anniversary party... wearing nothing but a bandanna.

I wont even attempt to go unless I get some mxo related reason to go. otherwise, not a chance. Everquest isnt quiet a reason to goto fan faire...
i wont be going, i dont see why MXO should go to an Everquest Faire when SOE refuse to acknowledge us, but still want us to turn up, its like a quote from one of my favourite comedians, we are like the relatives that you invite to your wedding and really hope that they can see past the luke warm tone of the card, look at your partner and say aaah, shall we give that a miss
if i can get the dates required then probly, it shouldnt be about the pannels anyway its about the people.

This
No MxO love = No SOE/FF love.
Edit: That said, Tseng's right too, and Vegas is Vegas. LET will be representin'

I would go just to meet everyone again, but its way to early.

The MxO planned activities are what this year?
Begging Smedly for developers after his keynote speech?
Pass.

Sure, that is true to a certain degree, BUT let's not forget the reason we met these people.. I want more MxO related love. I've been out there for 2 years straight, and it seems each year we get shafted more and more. Hell, Planetside got more love than we did the last few years, and thats saying a lot. Oh yeah, and BTW Tseng, I believe I saw you more at the bars last year than at most of the panels. So I believe your experience doesnt count for everyone

I see where your comming from though i found last year was a step up from the year before, no banners admitedly but there was a demo unit running and we got a small snippet in the keynote video. People probly arnt best pleased at resent events but i still belive the best way to get the point across is to get as many people to go as can be, theres only so much that can be gained with feelings of dienchantment towards soe, with the other games they have a much bigger turnout therfor its catered towards them. so what im saying really is if the game wants to stand up and be counted then wehave to reprsent ourselves as more than a handfull of forum post and a billing adress.
and ya i think i go with a differnt mandate really, with a game like ours if youve played it for long enough you kinda know most of what you wanted to anyway, so its more about just enjoying the time and taking a gander at whats comming up in the pipeline. unfortunatly i cant attend this year as i cant get the days but hopefully its not quite as bad as some are building it up to be this time round.

3 card poker? That's a relativly new table game, I love that one, not too hard and a lot of fun.
I need to brush up on my basic strategy (blackjack). One thing to note, which is good for us, is that my parents & some relatives went to Vegas recently and they stay at the main hotels, and because of the economic crisis the place was as barren as they've ever seen it.
This is good for table-game players, since last time I went a few years ago they got greedy and jacked up the minumum an the tables...many places you couldn't play for less than $25 a hand, which is ridiculous. So they went back down to $10 and $5. I'm sure even less in some off-strip places.
HOWEVER the flip side of that is that the slot machine type games are not paying out at all. My parents & some relatives play some video poker and slot games and they often will advertise stuff like 98% payout, loosest slots, etc., but they've gone and set all of the machines in the bigger casinos to the lowest payout percentage that's legally allowable in Nevada...like 60% or something. My family recently went and said the macghines were the worst they've seen.Which actually makes sense, they now have to subsidize all of those giant casinos somehow! Bottom line? Table games FTW, machine games FTL, unless you're just playing around!
Yeah 3 card poker, its been in the casino's over in the uk for a while now been getting better and better at it recently last year i was a total blackjack junkie i really like the single deck tables as we dont have them over here in the UK but this year im definatley hitting 3 card tables. $5-10 a hand is what i usually play which in 3 card can easily turn to being $20 in if you think you have a decent hand. Im not much of a slots man i prefer games with some skill to them instead of just mindlessly feeding a machine. i may enter a texas torni again this year although im out of practice with my poker playing. Should be good this year. I'm hoping to meet back up with Roukan and Craint maybe even hit some clubs this time I dont know. hopefully we wil have a free booze party like last year. I still remember staying up till like 6am just to watch spurs in the sports lounge of the hilton and im looking forward to see what Virago and Walrus has planned for us.
Oh and hopefully we can be the loudest goup there like last year eq players are so quite

I plan to be present, unless they lock me to a desk at work.
Would be nice to know more details and get some love for MXO but i'm going mostly for the people.
Doesn't mean I won't protest though once there if we get the shaft.

I had fully intended to come this year to meet Rare.

I'd be happy to do my part to promote our community and have fun there but health problems have drained my bank account. I'll keep doing what I can from where I am and hope yall have a blast at FF. Think positive, fam.
I won't be there...But can't wait to here how it turns out!
