After the simulation is lifted from our eyes. (Where are you going after MxO)

A bit late, but, after The Matrix Online, where do you people plan to go? I joined the Matrix online for the love of the story, and it's style. I doubt I'll ever completely retire from MxO, I might be on and off on my account, but, I'll be around here. I've been dreaming up an incredible story that I plan to transcribe into comic book form, within the Matrix mythos, incorporating many story events and characters from The Matrix Online, what I think should have been the cannon, as envisioned by a fan who is a mythos purist. Sticking around here would work to an advantage on that objective. It was promised that we would be a part of the story, so ideally, I will be adding players into the story, in fact 50% of this will be told in the perspective of the players.

Besides, that, though, where are you guys going to? I need an MMO, and MxO's story driven style was the main selling point. All that's left to offer from that point of view is the up and coming The Secret World and Star Wars The Old Republic. I might go back to getting on to FFXI, too.

Where are you guys going?

Well...  for me, there's Stargate Worlds, Star Trek, and possibly Aion.  Lately, I've been playing WoW.  The Secret World seems like it might be neat, but in my opinion, Funcom is a much worse company than SOE.  SOE and Funcom are two businesses that will never get my almighty dollar again.  Once MxO closes, that is.

That's actually very interesting. I've heard good things about Funcom. Then again, most people have bad opinions. I actually trust your word, Fen.

back to consoles. maybe i'll finally finish ninja gaiden for xbox. and gta3 and vice city. and path of neo. and obi wan. and twin snakes. no more mmos for me

As of now i'm still Addicted to Korean Shows and I think I got Gerik addicted as well since I haven't seen him log on Steam like about a month ago.  Korean ladies are so cute!  Check Rain (from Speed Racer) making fun of himself. tho I only play for for only a few times just coz i'm bored. I've pretty much seen about 17 finished Korean series in less than 6 months.  Sometimes I get to finish a series in 3-5 days.  They're really funny and good to watch.

Sub ends April first and after that I'll be waiting on Stargate and Star Wars: The Old Republic. Im a huge star wars fan so I'll be in TOR for the most part.

I'm not going anywhere. Currently it's just MxO and SWG, but I'll have to add TOR when it comes out.

I still play WoW, and I'll be over at Star Trek Online when it releases.  Might try out Stargate Worlds too.  If and when that is, if and when.

Instead of logging in to an mmo, might be time better spent hitting the gym.  Getting out more.  Doing stuff.  Socializing more.  Chasing teh hotties!  Travelling.  Reading more.  You know, all the good parts of RL.

Well, I just talked to one of my friends about EvE, and I think I found my next MMO.  Espically when their update Ambulation comes out.

Pretty sure Walrus said at the party they didn't have the resources (Personnel) to merge the servers and databases etc..

We're in maintenance/stagnate mode at the moment.

I would go play The Agency when it comes out no matter what happenes playing both games if it's still running and has enough players still, so i'm not complety bored.

Yes on a merge but I dont think they will do even that.

Death by entropy and attrition is a horrible way to go.   Eventually they'll have to pull the plug, if the entire MxO population literally drops below 50 or 40 or so.  I can see that happening in a few months, sadly.

Probably head over to Earthrise with some Tabula Rasa vets I hang out with and continue playing LOTRO.  Got a free beta key to Aion since Garriot used TR as his personal ticket to outer space, so I'll test it out for you people.

Otherwise, wherever the Trust ends up is where I'll end up too.

Aside from that, I don't really plan on committing to any online games. None have captivated my interest since this one, and that captive interest is long since gone from me.

Starcraft II, SWTOR, The Agency

MxO was/is my first MMO and i hope i don't see the doors closing soon. A merge would be ideal but they don't have the resources (managed it alright when we had more servers didn't they... lol they must be just getting past it to be any use, we know what SoE is like lol)

I'll prob try out The Agency, hope the servers are linked. Apart from that, i ain't going anywhere. Once the game does eventually die, i'll go back to smoking outside

I will be back to the real world, or built a matrix'y world in Second Life or something to stay there.
I hope MxO exists for more years.

I will continue with City of Heroes/City of VIllains. Their next update will allow players to create custom missions that will be available to all players. I think this is a pretty cool idea.

A lot of us moved to CoH/V.  Check us out HERE if you need a SG.  We're talking of making some "Matrixy" missions with the new "Mission Architect"  (oh the irony).

The rest of joos need to first go HERE then up there ^^^.

I've lost my faith in MMOs. I tried EvE, but after sitting and watching my ship fly about on autopilot for half an hour just to buy one item that was a little cheaper than others, I decided it wasn't worth it. I'll stick with TF2, and try to squeeze my way into the Agency Beta. If it's good, I'll give it a try. If it begins to show early signs of SWG/MxO "we'll release now and THEN fix major issues with a massive patch later," I'll do my very best to grief and troll the game until I'm banned.

Who knows. But in 3-4 years, I'll be there to lol @ Agency being put on life support.

Well it looks like a lot of people are going to be making the move to SWTOR. I also will be moving there when it is released.

Otherwise, I'm still playing my new e-crack, WoW. Don't make fun of me, I love the Lich King! NONE OF YOU UNDERSTAND! Oh... and I'm always on Steam for L4D/CS:S/F.E.A.R. 2 Besides those, nothing has really caught my eye. *waits for the next Legend of Zelda game*

As to that, I can handle real life and video games, including MMOs at the same time in my life. I do have a girlfriend don't I? ... Or do I? Dun dun dun.

It's good to know I'll still see ya people in The Old Republic, for those of you that I won't, I'll try to catch you elsewhere. I do need to do some bonding with you people, though, as I've been gone for a long time, most people don't even remember me anymore, I'm a bit famous for the sig, though!

Lol.  No one Fails quite like SOE Fails.

I like Zippy's idea but I see no reason to support any more SOE games with my hard-earned dollar when my hard-earned dollar is not being used to support this SOE game.*  It's like paying bonunes to AIG execs for driving the company into the ground.

* And even if all of their attention and resources are focused on The Agency for a while, and I were to enjoy that for a couple years while I were to subscribe and invest my time and money into it, who's to say they won't drop that attention and those resources the second they stop showing a large profit?  Cause you know they'll just throw us into the garbage heap along with MxO, SWG, etc.

The bottom line?  What makes a company successful in the long run?  Is it the company that says:

A)  "The Customer is my Friend.  If I treat my customers well, I will make a long-term customer who will continue to support my business over the years through high times and low, and spread positive word of mouth through friends and family over time."

B)  "The Customer is my Enemy.  Let's fleece these jerks for as much as we can.  If they don't like it, who cares, there's always another pool of suckers for us to leach a fast buck from."

Hmmm, I wonder which philospohy SOE subscribes to?  A or B?  Hmmm.....
