All of this has happened before, and it will happen again... and again... and again... and again...
12 new shirts?
Or are we wording it weirdly?
but the Oracle is dead...

"Operatives who successfully fight the virus will be able to use their Smith fragments to to purchase an array of twelve subversive T-shirts. Clothing from previous years will be available along with Oracle's special cookies and candy."
Nope. It's the shirts from previous years. Sorry if the text is fuzzy.

Better than nothing I guess

2008:
To help the celebration along even more, come party with us in game on Friday, March 21st from 3PM – 5PM PDT on the Syntax server in Camon Heights Park. Rarebit, Walrus, Virrago, Moonlite, Brewko, Dracomet, and 9mmfu will be in attendance to chat, wish everyone a very happy anniversary and hand out delicious cookies.
2009:
Come party with us in game on Friday, March 20th from 3PM to 6PM PDT on the Recursion server in Camon Heights Park to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of The Matrix Online. Virrago will be on hand dancing, handing out cake, and changing players into random disguises.

You guys ran the story out of here remember? LMAO! The fact that we have the anniversary coming up and MXO has been here 4 years is full of win. It's time to get your game-on!
*half a$@ the festives spirits*
Goddamit, Smith, die already!
At the least, I am going to make Danielle Wright into a Smth. One of us!

I can't say I am look forward to this.

I think the real question is why is the party on recursion? Graveyards don't make good party spots
I seem to sporadically miss the ani events, but does this mean it's only on recursion( the event not the whole virus deal) or will all three servers still have a chance to fight the boss smith?
Because Syntax was last year and Vector always gets ignored.

It's this year's version of last year's dev party on Syntax. It's on Recursion this year.
Happy Birthday, MxO.
We're fubar'd,

I disagree.
Also; Bayamos makes a poignant point.

It's theoretically impossible for something to be greater than itself.
Hmm...could be worse...at least the servers are working?
...for now.
>_>
I'm happy to have an anniversary event.

Thanks for taking the time to throw us a party
I'm looking forward to it! I already have all of the clothes but I might do the Smith missions for some of the pills or cookies, or for brownies
It's too bad there can't be a party for each server but I'm happy it's on Recursion!

...and some effort into the anniversary event.
Looking forward to it.
I'm thankful that there doing this for us cus it's better then nothing at all. looking forward to it for whats it's worth.
This is really pathetic. You guys have three holiday events a year... anniversary, Christmas, and Halloween. Would it kill you all to put forth SOME effort... just an iota of effort... three times a year? Meh... I still expect too much from this game, I guess. At least we have an event, even if it's non-sensical and repeated.
I've got all the shirts, so I'll probably just sit this one out. I might check out the party, but other than that... *sigh* Back to WoW.
This sounds great and I am extremely looking forward to it. And considering the tumult of late, I'm happy we even have this.
For the future, we could consider suggestions for new messages for shirts. Or new colors. Or stuff to revive, like the wonderful Blue Sky t-shirts and hats, or divine Awakening Glasses. But I've got a new incarnation on Syntax, and I am looking forward to farming up a storm. Great news

You're joking, right?
Who exactly is going to code and implement all of these wonderful items for our fabulous 6th Anniversary in March 2010?
BTW where's all of the wonderful items for our fabulous 5th Anniversary in March 2009?
Please explain.

Seriously? What do you really expect out of Walrus that he hasn't already put out there?
You really want a formal announcement of "Yeah, we've got nothin'?"

I'd like to know where this game is going for one thing...
There are rumors that MxO will be offered up to DC Universe as the first sacrifice on the SoE Altar, it'd be nice if someone either deny or confirm those rumors.
I think this pretty much says that absolutely nothing is going to happen until the death of MxO, other using the exact same holiday content each time.

oh so thats why its on recurison, the one dev symbolizes the ghost town that is recursion
if only vector could get some love and just through a huge pvp sheild around cammon or just the park.

See, that requires something MxO lacks a lot of: Effort.

I'll bet you a year's subscription pay that it would be far more valued than the Anniversary. Hell, every time Walrus says anything about the state of the game these days (few posts they may be), the shadows on everyone's faces gets a little lighter.
...Heh. If only in the sense of turning on the light for a second just after you've adjusted your eyes to the darkness.

You''ll get Nothing and like it!

Well said. Some individuals may see this as an insult, while others accept what can be granted for paying fifteen dollars (or X amount of insert currency here) a month to enjoy a game that is obviously dying.
There are optomists in this world who try to find a silver lining in the darkest of things, sugaree just happens to be one of those people. Pessimists can't see past the fact that someone who can hope and dream are actually doing only that (or in rare cases, hopeful wishing) for things to change. Will it happen? Probably not. But...why take that away? Why don't you try to explain who will undertake her requests for all the 'wonderful items' for our fabulous anniversary? She probably doesn't have an answer (and neither do most), and her wishes do not warrant an explaination, as she stated.
Some of us just try to explore and enjoy the game for what it's worth and not worry about trivial details on trivial things...like who is going to code all the items she'd like to see or implement past iterations of unattainable items at present.
As for me, at least we're getting something. SOE could have easily said screw you guys, just rot and burn until you cannot any longer! The fact they're still putting the game on life support at least leaves me to believe they're not quite done yet. Then another part of me says otherwise.
Moral of the story: If you don't like the game for what it's become, the cancel button is in your subscriptions page. Take a couple clicks of the left mouse button to just leave this game alone. But if you're going to stick around, respect what people wish and don't ask trivial questions about trivial issues when someone is merely trying to give ideas and support for a game she likes to play.
Just my two cents on the matter.
Wish Virrago put down that Dracomet would of been there! I'd of came over otherwise! To the party thing, that is.
