I think it's pretty clear from looking at last year's panels that this year there will be little, if anything to entice MxO players to attend Fan Faire. I would certainly like to attend, if only to meet Walrus, Virrago, and some of my fellow players. However... I would like to know what they plan to offer our community. This includes any in-game items. Do we even have the resources for something like that?

If they want us to come they will provide incentives. If there is no ingame item or anything MxO-related at FF'09...then the message will be loud and clear.
They could give a Translocation Program or perma Override Image FX for everyone who registers.
This means no development needed, not even a re-skin. Mind you they'd have to have someone actually send them out to people..
Considering our on-going loyalty and £/$ spent on the game over the years, perhaps if they invited us ALL to FF,all inclusive,including fares and fun money, then we would go!?! lol
As it is, mxo players will just be there to make the numbers up.......
Also, it's about time some consideration was given to British/European players....we cant all get to the USA !

So the main page for Fan Faire, has listed both the Copyright usage required from Warner Brothers to use "The Matrix "Online" name and logo and also has "The Matrix Online" listed under the "Featured Games" section.
Both of which, especially the latter, would suggest that there may be something planned for the game.

Actually I was objecting to the flagging & removal of a quick aside (one small post) as to things to do in Vegas outside of FF09, more importantly how the economy has affected the city and how that impacts what people might want to do when not in the convention. I am a walking Zagat's guide
So far I've seen NOTHING that even remotely would interest me in going to this year's SOE Fanfaire. Was that Top 10 Reasons to go to Fan Faire 2009, that was posted on the main site supposed to be a joke? I still don't have any incentive to attend till I see something resembling respect for this game, but sadly I doubt it will happen....
Now that tickets are available, will there be any ingame item offered? Also, will there be anything related to The Matrix Online at FF'09?
I think MxO based questions are banned on the Station Forums so I can only suggest asking Virrago to find out whats going on with FF'09 panels and/or items.

In my opinion, the crappiest thing you could do as a community member is to be in the position to ask the direct questions and use it to shmooze and drink instead. What I'm asking, is that while you're drinking and shmoozing, you get answers.

Actually hmmmm I think I'd be able to watch it Before leaving to vegas as it come's out on the 24th which is the day i'm planning to go to vegas. thus we get to watch it (key permitting) on the 22nd as i'm sure there will be either a midnight show or an early show of it like 2 yrs ago on primetime of the 23rd.
Im aiming to be in vegas for the 22nd so I can sample a few of the establishments think ill try the to see transformers 2 in vegas while im there

Since you are so pissy about the state of things and just anti-MxO now, go play a different game already or shut it up. I don't mean to be rude or anything, but how can you support a game that doesn't release anything new or anything at all now? I mean, *I* was fine with what we were getting with just Rarebit around. It was something to do, a REAL reason to pay $15 a month, but now he's gone and there's nothing coming out at all for us players to do. I'd bet anything that there's gonna a lot LESS people from MxO attending this year's Fan Faire for quite a few reasons, one: we have no developer(s), two: having to do with what we didn't have at last year's Fan Faire AKA no items to buy like shirts, etc... (lol at them trying to say they THOUGHT they saw MxO merchandise, like we're idiots or something), our own panel or whatever the h*ll they are with a sign saying "THE MATRIX ONLINE HERE GUISE" or even a small ingame competition. And if any of them or you are gonna say "Well they can't do that because WarnerBrothers...", its bulls**t, they knew they were going to have another Fan Faire and they knew there were going be MxO players there.
Also, if you're sick of everyone complaining on the forums either do something about it and release some kind of content, get SOE to not be douchebags or just report the post and wait for some magic to happen. No, thats not a flame, its a suggestion.

If I were anti-MxO, then I would do as you say and shut up and cancel and go elsewhere. But the fact that I'm still kicking and screaming for something to be done with this game should show that I still love it and still care about it. Guess what? I'm going to be kicking and screaming until the servers are shut down because unlike you, I care about this game and I want to see something great happen to it. I ask that you be direct with your questions about the future of the Matrix Online. Ask why we're not on the Station Store anymore, what plans there are for the future, etc. If at all possible, go to Smedly himself.
As consumers, we're being ripped off paying $15 a month for a game that has zero development. These people need to be held accountable for their desicions.
Why be a *a device used to introduce a stream of water into the body for medical or hygienic reasons*? It was a request. In my opinion, the crappiest thing you could do as a community member is to be in the position to ask the direct questions and use it to shmooze and drink instead. What I'm asking, is that while you're drinking and shmoozing, you get answers.And sorry, but I'm not going to pay upwards of about $1000 US to just be brushed off.
And don't give me that "pointing the finger and waving the community card" bit. Every single person in this community wants to know what's happening with the game, and those of you who are going will be in the position to at least get an answer. Don't waste it.
You know - I'm just going to be absolutely blunt here, because I'm realy good at that. Since you are so pissy about the state of things and just anti-MxO now, go play a different game already or shut it up. There are lots of other thriving games out there. don't tell the dedicated players who are still supporting the game, going to Fan Faire maybe just to have a good time becaus they enjoy it not to go. that is completely assinine. Man - stupid, stupid stupid. So for you, Don't go, don't spend your money, who cares. The others are absoltely free to do as THEY choose. And maybe talking to Wally face to face is a good thing? Who knows. But man, that just blows me away.
The rest of the ppl actually going are going to have a fun time regaurdless. And more power to them.

Since you're too busy stalking supermassiveblackholestar to read my post, I'll explain it again. I'm not against anyone having a good time at Fan Faire. What I'm saying is that people going should not waste the opportunity of being there when they can get answers.
If I were anti-MxO, then I would do as you say and shut up and cancel and go elsewhere. But the fact that I'm still kicking and screaming for something to be done with this game should show that I still love it and still care about it. Guess what? I'm going to be kicking and screaming until the servers are shut down because unlike you, I care about this game and I want to see something great happen to it. I'm not content to sticking my head in the sand and pretending that everything is fine, because it's not. I do not hate MxO, I hate what SOE is doing to it. If hearing me fight for this game pisses you off, than that's just an added bonus.
Also, going to Fan Faire is not supporting this game. Me still plugging my $15 a month says that I am still a dedicated player who is still supporting this game. Forgive me for not caring to spend $1000 to go and hang out with a bunch of dorks dressed like elves and stormtroopers in the hopes that my game MIGHT be represented and that I might be able to get the chance to speak with someone who is remotely involved with my game.

Yes there was one but it got canceled as It wasn't profitable at that time I believe for not many went.

I've been busy at my RL job, doing other things like working on an animated project, maybe playing a different game, been having a life. While I wait to see what SOE is going to do with this title. At least I don't sit and whine and moan about it all the dam time and annoy the others who are still trying to support game. Who cares about what you think or how disgruntled you all are that your precious Rareybit is gone and the game is in a state of limbo - it is what it is, sit down and shut it, or get off the pot. I'm just taking a stand and shoving back, that's all, cause these little boys deserve it.
I just got an email saying to register for Fan Faire. Do we even get an item this year for registering or will we either get nothing or one of the older items again?
