Hey dude...

Been over a week since you said you'd hook us up with updates and maybe the letter you keep promising Virrago.  It's also a week from our anniversary, and we're still pretty much in the dark.

How about some updates, brah?  Maybe comforting words?  Copypasta?  Anything?  Agency beta keys?

#36300550089 03/12/2009 09:26:26 Re:Dan 'the man' Myers!

"The Man" is a Walrus. How could you be so insensitive?! I know it doesn't rhyme, but maybe he should change his name to Dalrus Myers.

Oh, hey, look at that, it is getting close to the ol' Anniversary. I swear, if that man walrus forgets again, it's a divorce for sure!

Edit: Oh, and boy do I crave me some Agency keys.

While the game's anniversary is in March, it has always been celebrated in April - so that gives the tusked one some wiggle room.

I don't really want beta keys.  Heh, truth is I won't touch another SOE game for the rest of my life.  That was more a joke towards Walrus then it was a serious request.

And hey, where'd my previous post go?

#36300550674 03/16/2009 14:21:34 Re:Dan 'the man' Myers!

Hmm...guess Walrus has permanently retreated behind the SOE Wall of Silence with the rest of the MxO team.

I'm just going to go on the assumption that there won't be an Anniversary Event at this point.

#36300550677 03/16/2009 14:28:13 Re:Dan 'the man' Myers!

The empty office looks about right if you pan to the left on it you can see Walrus clawing at the door asking to be let out.

Seriosly the communication is apaulling....

Let me guess as to the 'update' / 'event' / 'Anykind of letter or information as to whats going on'....

It's in the post.... Right?

I think Walrus has been locked in the SOE Vault permanently.  His crime?  With his Producer's Letter, he was about to break the Cardinal Rule:

Do Not Talk About Fight Club The Matrix Online.

(He also was about to break the second rule as well).

Not right now we are in "maintenance mode" also Dracomet is on the Agency and 9mmfu is our main QA guy (although I dont really see how that can work since we have no patches to test) So right now we have Virrago..

Dracomet for new fulltime DEV plz.

There's no current plans to fill Rarebit's position.

#36300551394 03/20/2009 21:28:28 Re:Dan 'the man' Myers!

- no plans to replace Rarebit

- Dracomet works mainly on Agency now

- 9mmfu QAs mostly for Agency now

If I were to reciprocate the way SOE treats MXO as perhaps a picture of a finger gesture, it'd get me banned. But of course it's perfectly okay to treat the customers like that.

Fixed.

Face it, they could put more money into this thing, but then they'd be losing money since it wouldn't enhance interest in the game and then they'd shut it down completely.  As a company, it just wouldn't make any sense.  Unless you want to give them the funds yourself, complaining isn't going to get you anywhere.

Better to have it run completely player-driven than to not have it run at all.

#36300551414 03/21/2009 02:05:49 Re:Dan 'the man' Myers!

A little off topic, but it would have been nice to know that Walrus and Dracomet were going to show up at the dev party yesterday.  I came in late because, due to the party's announcement, I assumed no devs were going to show up.  I didn't know Walrus and Dracomet were there until I got there.

Be happy your still able to log into one of the few unique MMOs out there.

I agree with you imax the one thing i admit that the one fault with monolith it seemed like during every patch the game got bugier and bugier but since soe came along they fixed up about a majority of the bugs that were still from early beta and i still think monolith should have kept it in another month or two in beta as well.

Actually, the original release date they had aimed for was November 2004.  So, they were stuck between a rock and a hard place, they couldn't push it back any farther...they were already getting bad press from the delay from Nov to March amonst the fickle public.   But that being said, I don't recall any more or any less bugs during the Lith era as opposed to the SOE era.   Was it that bad?  I don't remember it as such but maybe I'm missing something.

Getting back on topic, I think we should relax and give Mr. Walrus time until the end of the Anniversary Event to let us know what the status of the game is.  I think we should give him the benefit of the doubt!  We love the Walrus, let him see if he can go to bat for us, or at the very least touch base with us. SMILEY

Sounds reasonable enough. I just hope that he doesn't say something like being unsure whats going to happen, but the Halloween event is around the (extremely far away) corner. I suspect if he did say something it would probably be about FF '09, that event which only a tiny fraction of the games community can get to/is interested in.

If it weren't for SoE keeping this game alive, i would never of had the opportunity to pick up and play MxO. I only started playing 3 years ago.

I'm gonna continue playing till its dead. Read about so many people saying that years ago, most have unsubbed already lol I'm not one of those, unlucky but yous are stuck with me

Interlock, PvP, buildings and hyperjumping is what keeps me playing. And yes, all 4 of they things wrap nicely into vector. Hyper jumping and buildings make the pvp travel.

Speaking of FF09, I think that will be the biggest litmus test as to whether or not SOE is absolutely committed to washing their hands of us and never lifing a finger for us again...that being if no ingame item is offered for those who preregister for FF09.

Off the top of my head I can think of the stuck in interlock bug... that was a nasty one. Nothing worse then running a freakin long mission then at the end you get stuck in interlock, and only way to fix it is to log out and log back in, canceling your mission.

I forgot about those.  But I still get the IL bug once in a great while, and the audio stuff didn't affect me because  I have always kept the audio off because I listen to music in the background.

I'm not about to sing the praises of SOE.  Like I said my appreciation for SOE is exactly the same as the appreciation SOE has for MxO right now.
