Fall of the Father,
One, two, three... everything checked out alright. That was good. There could be no mistakes now, no turning back. Tosuno weak, pale hand reached across the consol, carefully, slowly placing every piece of data where it should be, flawlessly creating what everyman desired, yet none would ever attain. here, in his sanctuary, his tomb, death fought hard to break him. His body shook. Cold, everything was cold. Though painful to look, he watched his breath fade away.
The ship, Seraphim, had little power left. Still, the poison leaked from deep within the beast, corroding everything. Resting silently within the darkness, underground, lost to everyone. The air itself froze as it grew colder and colder. Yet still, Tosuno remained, still, he fought.
His weak eyes shut, thinking back, he could see their faces now. His friends, even his family. The constant battle against the darkness, to save his loved ones. Every time, it was a victory, but every time, something was lost. It came back, and it would never stop coming back. Not even he could fight it any longer.
A tear fell down his face as his eyes opened once again, glazed over, his once blue eyes looked over the single screen that now left him with a choice. Choice brought him this far, but if that were true, then this would be his last decision, ever. In the end, he was, after all, only human…
Standing, his tiresome bones cracked, his whole body protested in pain. At the end of the long corridor awaited his final destination, his final resting place. The timer was running, but every tic of the clock seemed hours apart. His stride was that of defeat, beaten, broken, this warrior had no fight left.
The chamber open slowly, the pressure released with a hiss. Taking one final bow, Tosuno placed himself within the mechanical coffin. If they were ever to remember him as anything, may they remember him here, as he was before. A defender, a hope, a soldier. He preyed they would forgive him for the sins he had committed, and would still commit in the future. This, after all, was not the end.
The chamber closed slowly, and the jack plugged securely into the back of his head. It was a comforting feeling now, the only comfort he had left. Now, reminded of all he was, regret slowly began to sink in. Though, to late it was, as the gas slowly filled the chamber, and his mind plunged into the darkness he had fought for so long.
The Hover craft Seraphim now lay, barely any power remained in the reactor. Just enough to run the final program. The Seraphim delivered it’s final object to the Matrix system. Tosuno had died. Now, all that was left was the Black Angel. Who was left now, to fight it…
The rise of the Black Angel.
