noob question (i assume)

I literally just started, and Im just walking around killing these Chopper guys. I picked up some sort of rifle from them and a shotgun from a mission, but everytime I attack someone it switches back to the redpill special revolver I got in the tutorial. Why cant I use my other weapons?

in your upper right button of your hot bar, the very end icon should be your weapon, click the drop down and click the new gun youve got instead of the pistol, whatever its on at the moment in that little icon is what it will default to

also check the level needed for the gun, it may be minimum level somewhere above yours

You could put the gun in your hotbar too, if you use somthing like Cheapshot, you automaticly go into self defense, click teh gun in hotbar again, and you will switch back.

Actually, you can set a gun as "preferred" in your Inventory. Right click on the icon of your weapon of choice, and you should have a choice to "Set as preferred". Doing that will cause you to whip it out everytime you go to guns.

On a side note, I strongly recommend that all new players grab the Q-Gun from the JohnQ collector near the Camon church. Good damage for a lowbie, low accuracy downgrade, and it has a DOT with a pretty good to-hit chance.
