I'm making an assumption that, as of right now, our game will continue to run and be offered for a subscription fee and as part of the SOE station pass. If SOE does decide to put some resources in this game to "switch gears", which would you prefer to see? By story tools i mean the ability to spawn npcs, and maybe use some of the in-game props as luggables so players can find and pick up during player run events.
New Dev or Story Tools?

At this point, I'd honestly rather have story tools.

As far down the tank SWG is, it has many brilliant concepts that can be taken for example. What Phrack presented would be one of them.

To give credit where credit is due, Fenshire brought up the SWG Storyteller stuff awhile back in his Development Roundtable thread. Regardless, when I took my year-long break from MxO to play SWG on the Ahazi server, I was astonished when I found the Storyteller Vendor. Then I punched a kitten, because we didn't have anything like it in MxO.
When I was still around before my hiatus, I was an advocate of the full compatability in story and gameplay to have The Real as a part of MxO. I'd often point to SWG as an example with X planet being the Matrix, and space being the Real. Some people agreed, then I had some very tough opponents highly skilled in persuasion and argumentation in opposition thought of me absurd. Fun times, even if people agreed though, it's not like it was ever going to happen.

Psst.. highlighted the problem with your statement for you.

The kitten was totally asking for it.

Thanks for pointing that out. That assumption was made based off of posts by Walrus and Rarebit.

Ooh, I like that. I'd sure love seeing somebody create a Mos Eisley atmosphere out of Camon C--oh, wait, I'm not thinking about this quite right, am I?

I'll take both, actually. :: Smirks:: Hey, I'm a Merv, I'll take the whole thing if I can find a way. :: Laughs::
New dev* plz, kthxbai
*One that understands the importance of a dynamic, interactive storyline; rather than mindless, level-exclusionary, repetitive World of MatrixCraft grinds for stuff we don't need, masquerading as story content.

Actually, I would agree to this.
I guess I'm just feeling a little jaded right now.
CountZero for Matrix Online developer!

I'd like to see a player being given the job of MxO dev. Anyone of those who think they can do a better job than the last dev. It wasn't brilliance and wasn't dire but it was as enjoyable as it was frustrating and equally engaging. I'd love to see them all fail at it and their own egos shattered. It'd be hilarious.
I'd almost have to pay to see this, while this update was very disappointing, props have to be given where props are due. Rarebit did what he could with the limited resources at his disposal. Yes, I was disappointed by the update, but like many others, I wasn't expecting a whole lot.
On topic, SWG-type storyteller tools would be nice, but I believe it's a finer point to accept what's there and move on than get upset over something that we have no control over.
When SWG came out with the Storyteller tools, I was hoping that MxO would eventually get this. I saw SWG as what MxO could become, but with live events.
I was hoping that update 66 would contain main storyline character captures (even if they were only one-time use). There's only so much awe that an exile hideout boss can inspire compared to the Merovingian himself.

That brings up a good point, Croesis. I wonder about the source of Walrus's supposed inactivity. Is he busy working on the Agency, is he reviewing applications, is he meeting with other MxO Devs/officials on what the next step is?
Let us hope...
