Several community members are involved in developing a project and corresponding website to coordinate the revival of The Matrix Online. This is the beginning.

http://www.zionarchive.com/forum/

(I just got the forum up. There's no styling (default look only now), but that's coming soon. I'm currently working on integrating the forum with blog/content management from Wordpress. So pay no attention to the bare URL for now.)

Get over there and start posting what you can do, what you are looking for, etc. We'll start putting something together.

But you have to actually try at this. I know in the past there have been community projects that have wilted away because of inaction and lack of interest. Well, guess what folks? You just experienced the very last "official" event that The Matrix Online will ever have. All we have left are those in the community that love putting together stories and events for the other players to have fun with. This website, I hope, is where all of us will get together to make this work.

The full idea:

1. Archive of Matrix history, including past storylines and events of The Matrix Online.

2. Central location for engaging stories and events (RP, PVP, Parties, tournaments, whatever is fun) crafted by the community members that truly care about the Matrix experience (News and details of events and storyline).

3. Non-SOE controlled discussion boards.

We would also like to coordinate with some of the other community projects. I'd love to work with the people behind mxomainframe.com - either combining our efforts or just a strong relationship linking to each other. If there are any MXO radio stations still broadcasting, maybe we can work on something together. We don't want this to be a clone of The X or even of Radio Free Zion, but who knows what could come about.

Check your egos at the door, and let's have some fun.

It seems to me some people actually wish it to be so and repeat it over and over. Do you have an official SOE statement about it? If so, please share. If not, your red-font line is a mere assumption.

You know, guys, before you jump on the "links or it didn't happen" bandwagon, has SOE actually said we will be getting any more events? Have they actually said Rarebit will be getting replaced?

Have they said... anything? At all?

And while we're on the subject, hasn't the silence been a little unnerving? Sure, Walrus popped in with a "I'll tell you more, when I tell you more..." but, yeah. That was almost two weeks ago now.

Indeed it has.  At this point I'll be happy with the servers staying on and maybe some way we can launch npcs at player -run events.  MXO ftw.
