Ugh.
He could be in Bebop..
But as Spike? This has a high chance of disappointing me...
But please let them have ol' Mad Pierout in it..

Keanu as the Bebop main char = LULZ, another failure
he doesn'T fit the role, nor the style

Oh dear God..next is that he will be Batman?
img>While I'm excited for the movie, I really don't see Keanu as playing Spike...maybe like...jeez, I can't even come up with a throwaway character. Keanu Reeves doesn't fit the atmosphere of that show even a little bit.
A remake of Cowboy Bebop?
Is nothing sacred?

"Hollywood: Where we do nothing but copy off Asia every year."
Oh, look at that movie "The Uninivited". That certainly isn't the billionth remake of an Asian horror movie.
"Archival Science in a Post-War Simulation".
-
"Logging Tips for New People and Veterans Alike".
-
"Submit Your Logs".
I like Cowboy Bebop, and I like Keanu Reeves... but whether the two gel just right remains to be seen when the movie comes out.
Now they're turning Japanese cartoons into movies? Christ. Are there no more original ideas anymore? Every movie is either a remake, a novel adaptation, a videogame adaptation, and now an adaptation of some Japanimation movie.

Thing is, it's cheaper now to buy adaptation options than it is to buy the options on an original script, hence the plethora of remakes and adaptations. And since Japanese copyright laws are more flexible than American ones, it stands to reason they'd be using more material that originated on the other side of the Pacific.
On a side note, a Bleach "live - action" style movie may be quite interesting, as long as there were not toooo many special effects. A much, much slower pace and focus on charactersation being the order of the day - as that is what, in my opinion, made the series' stand out.
On - topic: For Keanu to pull this off, would require a vast departure from his usual acting style, which would certainly endanger his acting history of "almost every character for every role" - oh, aswell as taking a chance on actually immersing himself fully into a role.

Indeed Operative... I agree... Ain't that what we've all said as well to Heath Ledger when we all learned that he was cast as the Joker in the Dark Knight. And looked at how everyone ate back what they've said against Heath...
I wonder, I could see Holywood making an Akira Live-Action movie in the near future. Oh gawd I hope not.
While writing: I looked up Akira for exactly that just in case: IT WILL BE DONE. OH MY GOD.

Cowboy Bebop is a legend in the anime world. This being successful isn't very likely, imo. I'll check it out when it is released but I'm not getting my hopes up.
And Othinn FTW.
Hollywood isn't just taking the "cheaper" route but the less creative one as well. Originality is about as rare as a good actor/actress these days. >_>
