I am very very good with computers. In both software/hardware and even more so with networking.

I am running Vista x64 bit, so that automatically gives you some heads up with what I am facing, install wise.

I downloaded the game from Direct2Drive since no place around here still carrys the game itself. It downloaded fine, and installed fine.

During the patcher. I initially got the error -47 I think it was. Must of been some internet problems on my part. So I ran it again and it did it once more. Except now further into the patching downloading I got error -30. Could not write file or was a read only [I think it said]. I ran the launcher again from the direct source instead of from the shortcut and ran it as Admin.

So right now I am waiting to see what will happen since it takes a super long time to download. I also set its priority to High through the Proccess in TM [while running TM through Admin mode].

So I'm waiting to see what's gonna happen. I have work in an hour, and will be back in 7-8 hours. Any suggestions for when I come back on something I might be missing?

Edit:

Forgot to mention that I also had opened up ports 9700 as UDP under "launcher.exe", and 10000-11000 as Both TCP and UDP under  "launcher.exe"... [And as I was typing this I got error -48, that the download was terminated unexpectedly.]

Is there a manual patch I can download, since this is getting annoying.

I believe with Vista you got to "Run as Administrator". You can modify your shortcuts to do this automatically. As for patching, there have been alot of changes that the D2D don't have, so it will take a while. However, if you run it again, but turn on the "Full System Scan" before you enter your user and pass, it'll go through and verify the files it downloaded, and what you need left for a good install.

Final note, right now there is a slight patcher bug at the end, where it'll say -15 for the error. You can ignore it and continue playing the game.

Also for the ports, try it with matrix.exe as well, if you have something remotely installed like Norton.

If you have any more questions, please post back.
