That's sad. Rest in peace Mr. Montalbon.
I'm going to watch ST:II tonight also. Maybe Naked Gun while I'm at it..

Aww, who will grant my fantasy now? Man, that islands tourism is gonna suffer.
Aye, a "Wrath of Kahn" rental is in order.
/salute

2 roflwaffels for the good mr. duke

Another Legend has passed away. RIP!
<./img>KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!?!?!
I loved this guy, from Fantasy Island (which I grew up watching as a noob), to his commercials that would come on when I was watching The A-Team and V- the series, talking about fine Corinthian leather and whatnot.
I turned away from my screen when I saw this news.
R.I.P. Khan Noonien Singh. (aka Richardo Montalban)
Pillster

The man is a Legend. Pure and simple.
That's the third fine old man in Hollywood who's passed on, in the space of twelve months... So sad...
well finished watching ST:II, Bill & Lenard stole the show as usuall, but Mr. Mantalban was pure gold...
"Oh I have given you no word to keep Admiral, from my perspective you simple have no alternative"
God I love that line.
I must say I'm Suprised so many us you thought as highly of him as I did. Good to hear!

He was a great actor in the classic fashion, and Wrath of Khan is my #2 favorite ST movie (After First Contact). And I'm about to put ST:II in, I just got home.

Who else can claim to make Kirk rage so much? Klingons came close, but alas, no cigar.
Words cannot express the loss I feel over the death of this man. He was the epitome of old school Latino charm and flair. This man knew what it was to be suave and debonaire way before Julio Iglesias came around with his spray on tan. R.I.P. Ricardo, you will be missed!
Smiles Everyone! Smiles!

And of course this is the OG Gangsta look when you pissed him off!

Which other two? I'm guessing Paul Newman is one, who's the other?

Not Tatoo. Herve Villachaise (sp?) killed himself a long time ago IIRC.

The other would be Charlton Heston: I kind of saw that one coming, but it was still saddening when the news broke...

I don't feel sad when the old Hollywood greats pass away, just grateful to them. I feel as though they've achieved the closest thing to immortality one can get with their body of work.
I only feel genuinely bad when their life's work is cut short and made incomplete, like Heath Ledger or Bernie Mac from this year.
I also am one of the few ppl that like the "In Memoriam" montage during the Academy Awards.

oh me too, I remember watching one some years back and all the sudden Deforest Kelly's picture popped up, and I fell over with saddness cuz i had no idea he had died, then I arose in angry because I didnt hear the audiance clapping nearly as loud for him as they were for some other old fart that I had no idea who it was lol.

You know thats the ONLY thing I hate about those...the applause...like its a postmortem popularity contest. That's pretty ghoulish. I feel bad for those people who worked behind the scenes yet they don't have the name recogniction, like directors, writers, cinematographers, etc.
Other awards shows don't do that. I don't remember about the Golden Globes (missed it this year) but last year I was flipping through channels and I caught the BAFTA awards, and they had the same thing but out of respect they didn't applaud and waited for the entire montage to end....it was much better.
