#36300532978 01/02/2009 15:39:29 Greetings from the ether

Hello everyone.  I haven't been around for about a year.  For sanity's sake, I decided not to read all the forums since then.

Can anyone recap, briefly, anything worthwhile within the last year?

Edit: Oo, new rank.  Though I don't have much logic, and certainly not superior logic.

Thanks for the recap.

<3 you too.

I don't remember your Recursion RSI, but I know you were in FH.

As you can see, Recursion hasn't changed a bit.  Just as warm and welcoming as ever.  Probably why only about five people still play here.

There was a good recap on the DoE boards, complements of Neoteny...  let me pull it for you:

The only cool parts:
Machines destroyed Zion.
EPN rebuilt Zion and took it as their own base later on.
Shimada got killed by Veil.
Kid got scarred by Veil.
The Trust [Bindi, Fen, Deffdog, and me] and E Pluribus Neo (the Syntax faction) protected Commander Lock's convoy against Machine/Cypherite and Merovingian ambush.

The rest:
Danielle Wright (if you've seen the sig, read: sciency *pregnant dog*), head of Wright Corporation (read: Rarebit pulling *poo* from his *bottom*), was tapped by Zion to invent a new red pill since the Machines found a way to trace the old one or some *poo*. It was revealed that she came up with the EJP as a Zion operative, then quit and blah blah blah. She got killed not too late after.
Two wireframe guys showed up out of nowhere - Halborn and Carlyne.
We learned that they were from a group called the Oligarchs, who are freeborns who exist outside Zion and the Matrix, but are able to enter the Matrix. They have a front corporation in the Matrix called Ourboros.
From some reason the war screeched to a halt at this point.
Halborn's after something called the Biological Interface Program (BIP). Carlyne "enters to stop him" and plays all sides.
Halborn kills the Oracle. He's removed from the Matrix not long after.
Carlyne leaves, only to return around the same time that OMG DANIELLE WRIGHT SOMEHOW SURVIVED AND IS NOW WIREFRAMED AND UBAR.
Wright kills Carlyne.
Wright demands the BIP which the Merv found.
Wright is killed in Hampton Green by random opratives (she's a world boss that's still active, I think) and the BIP appeared.
BIP continues leaving messages which are quotes from Trinity.
Ghost meets the BIP, which calls itself Trinity. Ghost believes that it is Trinity, somehow.
Two other Oligarchs no one gives a *poo* about entered the Matrix to find the BIP.
The war continues to not matter at all.
The story continues to decline and suck both *beans* and *frank* while licking *bottom* at the same time.
Oh yeah, and there was a full subchapter or two about a lawsuit between Pendhurst-Amaranth and Wright Research that completely disappeared in the blink of an eye about a mission later. No one cared while it was happening, anyway.
The freeborn engineer of Roland's ship, Mauser, also somehow entered the Matrix after having been at a Wright facility. He didn't talk much and pretty much just kept running and using random phones to go places. It's believed he took a small ship and went somewhere. Doesn't seem to matter much at all.

The war was interesting. What's going on now is *interesting-impaired*.

I can't really recall any good drama during the past year, except for finding out about the Collective leaking LESIG info to themselves.  Nothing else really stands out to me...  the Dragoons came and went in the blink of an eye, if you were even around when they were here.  Been kind of a boring year.

Quality editing job by me.

You can't teach old arseholes new tricks.
