Hello MxO, and happy new year , I played MxO in 2005, I recently returned and just had some questions mainly about the community.

I remember MxO had some cool radio stations when I played, but for the life of me I have no idea where these where, are they still around?

Some hardlines where very popular hang outs in 05, but since returning I haven't seen much life, are there still some designated hang outs?

I was never in a group or clan or guild back in 05, but are there any MxO groups around?

I got my characters back and I'm playing Vesirious at the moment, still trying to get to grips with everything, not sure whether there is a particular story line to follow or specific contact so it'll be some weeks before I'm back on track, but if anyone could answer the above I would greatly appreciate it.

Regards,

~Vesirious

Happy new year.

I think Exile radio and Catzi's are the only stations playing. I don't have much info about the radio stations because I stopped listening when Radio Free Zion changed their name.

Mara C is the most populated hardline. The game has lost a lot of subscribers though so don't expect to see it be as packed as it was in 2005.

To join a clan, guild or the prefered term Faction, I'd suggest checking out the recruiting forum of the server you have  your character.

Each organisation has their own Archivist. Zion's closest to the Moriah East hardline. Merv's closest to the Apollyon NW hardline. Machines to the Midian East hardline. Look for a book icon on your map to find the Archivist's store.
Inside you can buy mission tickets that will launch the missions of the previous chapters. These will bring you back on track with the story. By completing the missions you will recieve tokens which you can trade at the respective organisation Collecters for all sorts of items and effects for your RSI.

Good luck.

Awesome, and thank you!

I think I'll catch up with the story first and get back into the game, thanks for the quick response, looking forward to finishing work now so I can get back in game

Yes, Welcome.  What server and what org are you?

Thank you, Right now on my main character I'm playing on syntax, I'm in the minus for all 3 factions atm, working on joining Zion as I'm only -10 with them.

You should think this through, operative.

I chose Zion because I had the least minus rep with them hehe, any advice on factions to join? what to look for?

You made a very wise choice in Zion, operative.  Sadly...  I don't know any of the Zion factions on Syntax.  I'm really only familiar with our friends in E Pluribus Neo over there.  Look for a guy named Gerik; he's good people.  He can help you out.

Thanks for the tip, I'll look him up tonight

Agreed.

Though if he wishes to stay within New Zion, I recommend The Black Code.  They're everywhere like a freaking plague.

I'm such a knucklehead!  I forgot about the Black Code.  Shows you how much I've been operating on Syntax...

Yeah, Black Code's good people too.

Also, you might want to look up our organizational contact on Syntax, Harkee.  She could direct you towards other factions as well.

Awesome, thank you all for the replies, I know this game got hit hard with people leaving but I'm glad there is a friendly and strong community presence, I think MxO is highly under rated, I've been having a blast since I returned.

The warm replies just make it better, I think I'm going to get to grips with the story and try to mingle at the social spots before I choose a faction to dedicate myself to.

Thanks again

Another tip: I wouldn't pick an organisation to join simply because I have less reputation to grind. Each organisation has their own ideals and beliefs, and perhaps you'll find out eventually that the choice you made now by joining Zion wasn't the right one. I can tell you from my own expierence that there's nothing to enjoy about grinding reputation again.

For a good while, to join a crew you just had to have 0 points of reputation with any organisation to join a crew of any organisation. Time has changed and today you need 0 points with the organisation you'd like to join. This means that if you want to switch to another organisation you have to run 127 missions just to join a crew.
And that's not it, the latest critical missions require (at level 50) 60 reputation points. Thus, if you'd like to switch you probably have to run close or over 200 missions! The higher your reputation is, the lower the chance is to get a reputation point. So choose wisely. SMILEY

Correct me if I'm wrong (seriously; I'd love to hear some good news), but I don't think SI Radio so much as glances at MxO these days.

And does Catzi Radio still not have a Web site, blast it? SMILEY

I should note, Operative, that the Merovvingian org is the most fun with the least drama.  Plus, we have pale death bishes, Club full of death bishes, and Cake we get a orga...qlimax without the need of a partner or even touching ourselves

No organisation operates more freely than the Cypherites.

Yeah Vesirious, don't listen to all the lies. War is about having fun during the day.

Zion is waiting, as usual.

Thank you all again for the replies, I checked out Mara C last night and there where many people there, Started playing through the chapters and getting used to it all again so thanks for all the tips and advice, It's really helped me out!

Heheh, after looking at it, just going off my personality I am better suited to the Merv organisation, so my new character will be heading that way, my main will be going to Zion, and my other character to the machines.

I figure this way I can experience them all and just play the one I have fun with the most.

Look at yourself in the mirror before you pass judgement onto others, please.

Hm. Much as I'd love to stay here and prove you wrong, I think we've taken up enough of these people's time. Give my regards to your rational commander Ghost and his rational investigation.
